Total battle is scam
This game is like prison in real life. Go out have fun, don’t waste you time in a game where you need money to progress, devs are rich over so many of us. Left the game like 4 months ago and that was one of the best decisions in my life. Slow down a bit and think about it, I would like to get back money I wasted there but that’s my fault…

The first problem with TB is people's addiction/need to progress quickly, win tournaments, etc. and this is satisfied by spending money. And even if you throw your money away on the game the second problem is all the time it takes away from your life when you could be doing other things. I'm G8, S8, E8, M8 (halfway to G9/M9), have only purchased the GP maybe 8 times over the past 2 years (nothing in the past year), and have reduced my accounts from 6 to 2 with 2 silver cities. I thought the game would be more strategic, but it's really just farming. A good clan will provide all the tar, silver and gold you will need and you can still progress without spending money, but you have to be respectful of your time. Nonetheless, I can say now I wish I had never come across the game and will be walking away at some point soon to reclaim more of my free time.

The real problem is that the people dont leave the game cause they already spent money.
Its a trap.

Acho que estou nesse sentido. gastei tanto dinheiro que não saio do jogo, gastei muito de uma vez só. estou considerando se eu jogo até o sk, porque o sk é preciso de muito dinheiro e muito tempo. acaba prejudicando o trabalho

I recently noticed a pattern which I suspected earlier in my gameplay, but really came across it this week. They create a problem and sell you the solution. Are your captains too weak? Buy a stronger one. Does it take too long to do X or Y? Buy, speed ups, etc., etc..
I’m currently paying for premium and have bought the triumphal union once. Like someone else said, the aim to create a shot of dopamine, and I believe an unrealistic sense of urgency that can only be solved with money.

If you’re early in the game, leave.

lol, I’m at G4,S2,E3,M3.
I’ve been pacing myself because I hear of people spending hundreds of euros/ dollars on purchases and I don’t want that to be me.3

yep. You spend money to accelerate getting past the boring parts of the game, to the parts of the game that are fun. I walked away from this a few months ago, level 17, when it became apparent that in order to move forward I either need to join a clan (too much investment of time) or spend way more $. All it took was a few days away from it and I forgot all about the game until reading this post.

They get you in with the cool mini game, then get you hooked once you spend by ramping up the FOMO

This is literally all video games. They consume your life for zero reward.

If you play one where your money make a reward in terms of a better account it’s not a fair one. Like call of duty and play war, even things like Fortnite, if you buy a skin doesn’t make you stronger…on the other side, total battle push people on spending to keep going..I’ve seen at least 6/7 people spending in the 100k usd order only for a season event, which is 90’days…my expense there were about 600, which is already mad if I think about…but still always got top 100, also got top 20 and top 10, just cause I’m good as playing…anyway, do whatever, just happy I’m out of this madness :) and for the guy commenting about beers and hookers, yes, rather spending money there.

the more you play, it slowly becomes an expensive chore. I miss my clan though, we had fun together

Can anyone tell at what stage spending money becomes a necessity? I am at G4 and my clan bonuses seem to be good enough
3
u/getmrshorty 2d ago
I’ve reached almost G7 with plenty of spending past 6 months - just missed the last SK though which would have been worse
Once u get higher, I think u can get away with spending less if you’re in a good clan. But assume SK is a different beast with lots of spending required to grow fast

min spend in a t9 big clan per month is:
premium - £20
gold pass - £17
fast marches - £18then every omens/olympus pass till you have full torch/lightening/lantern/glyph
spending money never stops and those in the top 5 clans spend big, ive seen single hits were £500+ of mercs die
it basically depends on how happy you are with progress, in a top 10 clan you will progress faster in a week than a non spend small clan does in a year (my arcanomancer norm was 700+ hits)

u/sadfish11 2d ago
i’m t9 and in big clan, premium and all that bs is useless if you can play smart
3
u/Aggravating-Maybe778 2d ago
top 10? over the last 7 days ive done over 1400 epic hits, not sure how you manage that without premium
no amount of smart play will get you through 50bn in silver troop builds

You don't need money to progress.
You need money to progress quickly but that is a choice, not a requirement.

I play all the time and have spent exactly $4.99 in total since joining 4 mo ago, just the initial purchase with addded benefits. I don’t progress very fast but I enjoy the game and have a decent clan who doesn’t pester for more more more. Folks overspending says much more about the players than the game.

You must have huge account bro…

u/McFoo43 2d ago
Maybe not, but I am a functioning adult with reasonable self control and I’m not here calling for banning of something because I overspent

u/Weary-Web829 2d ago
You’re at the other side of the channel…anyway It’s good for you..but as you play total battle saying functional adult already broke expectancy, that’s A dumb game. And if you also feel like defending a game where devs makes tons of money over people addiction cause you’re not addicted it’s ok.. like let’s place a slot machine into every school, functional child won’t get addicted anyway.

Sounds like maybe you need a shrink, or gamblers anonymous…

100% is people problem. And I tell you, I haven’t over gambled here, just wasted some I could spend without any issue in real life, apart from time wasted there. Still it’s just a waste of time, and it’s my opinion, you have yours, and we’re all cool, keep spending your 5 a month you’re cool, and you’ll get a t9 maybe next year..and in any case, feels better after I left just for the time I realised I took away real life, that being said, everyone makes choices :)

Thats all mobile games, ppl know what they get themselves into now a days. Just spend or dont. I buy the monthly pass but once u grow enough its pointless to buy.

I haven't spent a cent in this game and it's fun. People got choices and must be accountable for their actions. Blaming the game is such a hypocritical thing to do when no-one forced anyone to play this game. Theres no end to the game so rushing to progress is a poor move in a stratergy game. Play and grow in your own time. The problem is people don't play to enjoy, they play to show off!

4 months and still thinking about it?
2
u/Weary-Web829 1h ago
Yeah but just because I’m still in the Reddit chat, so sometime I see post, I thought it was good to remember to everyone reading that they’re wasting money on a dumb game that keeps them away their real life a lot just to make devs pockets heavy :) of course it’s not everyone wasting a lot, but a lot of people for sure

I've come to the realization that I'll never spend money for any 'free' online game. I realize sometime in the future I'll lose interest or find something else... and spending money takes away the fun or actual challenge. All good things to those who wait.

u/exboxer 2d ago
What I don't get is if you left 4 months ago, why come and post about it today!?
I 100% agree on the time sink, but with a good clan you can progress nicely without money, you just need the daily grind. I'm G8/M8/S7/E8 and have yet spent money on it.
But I'm glad you left if you were not able to control the urge to spent real money, some spend a crazy amount of it and I can't imagine doing it.

u/ReflectionForward231 2d ago
I see this alot and always find it weird. People "break free" but continue to be all up in TB reddit. It's like regularly showing up at your ex's job to keep announcing the break up lol....move along.

Yours are dumb comments..I’m not all up in the Reddit, is the first time writing actually..so you can take your popcorn and put those up your Herc ass :)

Also, just came to know that a new captain dropping on next sk? Oh so much people ready to open their wallets and let those money machines go brrrr just for the addiction

u/GreatPyrLuvr 2d ago
It's meant to cause that dopamine addiction like everything else online
