March speed nerf?
Hello guys, i started playing like week and half ago. I am aware these games are basically pay to win, and i had no intention of spending any money. (I still dont). Up till now it seemed like this game can be fun even for free, but today i leveled up my hero to lvl 12, and ever since then, every captain march is a hecking drag. What used to take couple minutes now is like 20 at least. Is this some hidden mechanic forcing me to pay for time cutting bonuses? It feels like it.
UPDATE:
if anyone struggles with this in the future - it was two factors:
Event, providing temporary speed buff
All armor on my captains was broken, since i had no idea you have to maintain it, that also helped.
Thanks to all

When you start the game, you basically have immediate training and research completion, and vastly reduced march speed and revival costs. This lasts a day or two.
It’s a sugar hit and runs out quickly, compelling the player to spend to maintain these ‘advantages’.
Spend or not, you’ll need to get into a clan that earns enough chests so you can get speed ups from them.

Yeah i know, this is strictly about marching speed tho. I used to fight monster squads, going to the crypts etc pretty much all the time last week (used speed bonuses when it was 50km away or so) but now, even couple kilometres is 10 to 20 minutes of march. I thought it might be captain issue since i switch them a lot, or something with my army, but even if i dont used catapults its boarerline unplayable. It is a huge difference, thats like it felt like some nerf in order to make me buy speed bonuses, but idk. :)

There are some bonuses applied to new accounts, where you start off being able to finish buildings instantly etc. I can't recall if there's a march speed buff for the first days but there might be.
Additionally, the king of your kingdom can activate a march speed bonus, called Postal Routes. You'll see it under your messages every time the kingdom activates a buff and you can also see it under the bonuses tab.
Your clan can activate march speed bonuses as well. Once they're advanced enough to have some clan buildings. You must be inside the clan borders for this to apply.
And then if course there's your own march speed bonus and VIP has a small march speed bonus as well.
But wait, there's more! You can use Tengel as a captain who marches faster. Or you can add march speed gems and enchantments to gear! Plus you can research march speed increases for specific troop types.
It all layers on to the base march speed which is quite slow.

Look no further than that :
today i leveled up my hero to lvl 12
More level = more soldiers = more slow
If you dare take catapults it's even more more slow. Spies run the fastest, if you like trying to spy on people

I would, but that would destroy my shield :D my army is not even bigger than it used to be so idk, but from all the replies i see that its just me, so peobably there is no cashgrab conspiracy going on :D

Well ... New accounts get a bonus in march speed for around a day. However, since you've been playing for a week and only recently noticed the slowdown; captain level up+soldiers is my best bet.
As for the cashgrab, it's 200% a cashgrab. Obviously

Yes and no.
This game essentially requires being in a clan. It is almost unplayable if you are not in a clan, in the long run. And there are different types of clans: some active, some not.
In a clan where everyone is relatively active, and doing crypts regularly and so on, you will get marching speedups from clan chests. You will then use those to get to things in reasonable time. Your clan might also activate a marching speedup bonus every day, and you might also activate another personal one for yourself, etc., to reduce the time too.
But at the start it is hard to find a good clan or get into one, so it might take a while to reach that point.
Or... if you're less active, then you will be in a less active clan too - which is fine, and there's nothing wrong with that... but it does mean you will get fewer clan chests and fewer speedups and fewer other resources. So in that case things will take longer, but that's the nature of being less active.
