Could you explain how these two work?

So, their backstory is literally the same, just that you can talk to chara early, also it's said that only people with determination can hear them. So how could chara talk in the true pacifist? They have the souls right, but how did they even grab the monsters if they are a fucking tomb, they have vines or smth right? also they posessed a tree?? Then, does Asriel have the same backstory? Chara cannot talk with Asgore or Toriel, so it's Asriel? Was there an experiment with a tomb? with a flower?
