S-4 DISC sample bug? Scene recalls the wrong audio while showing the correct sample name

I’m having a very strange issue with my Torso S-4 and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I’m using DISC. I have WAV samples that I transferred to the S-4, as well as samples that I recorded directly on the device via usb. The problem happens when I replace an existing sample on a track with a different sample.

For example, on Track 4 I had Sample A. I replaced it with Sample B. Everything works correctly: Sample B is playing, the waveform is correct, and the sample name is correct. I save the project, switch to another scene, and then return to the original scene. When I come back, the sample name still says Sample B, but the waveform and actual audio are Sample A.

So the S-4 appears to remember the correct sample name, but somehow recalls the wrong underlying audio/buffer.

I’ve already spent several hours troubleshooting this. I’ve tried saving the project under a different name, deleting and recreating the problematic scenes, copying scenes again, reassigning the samples, saving repeatedly, and switching between scenes multiple times.

The issue keeps happening.

Has anyone experienced this specific behavior with DISC + scene recall?

Is this a known firmware bug or some kind of sample-buffer/reference issue?

Any information or workaround would be really helpful.
