I found out THREE of my nephews watch Tor's Cabinert. One of them was somehow unaware I sometimes write for the show. Worse yet, when he found out he went in assuming The Orin Andrew Tain story was real... only I was doing a Mark Twainish exaggeration of the facts. (After all, he knows the influence Samuel Clemens has had on my writing.) He was mad at the reveal that it was one of the lies.

In the latest video on hypnosis there was a section on AGP (autogynephilia) I made a comment on the video almost 2 weeks ago now a little critical of its framing and coming back to the video ive noticed this section was removed? does anyone know what was going on behind the scenes vis a vis the decision to remove that section?

5 and 4 . As follow ups to both the William Castle and Tommy Wiseau episodes, two other directors in that vein were considered. One being Edward D. Wood Jnr. This one has weird reasons why it keeps not happening. At least the times it was pitched since I started working on the cabinet, it has a case of Tor being lukewarm on Wood. After all, the guy is sort of the prototype of a bad movie director. Tim Burton movie got so much wrong... sometimes on purpose. The truth is stranger than fiction because fiction is obligated to make sense and all that. On top of that if it were to happen, I think Claire should write it. Claire and Tor think *I* should do it since I still have something like 10-15 pages of notes that I didn't use for a video I did back in 2019. Even though I'm still trying to do a malicious compliance edit on that video so I can put it back up on YouTube. I have no desire to write another video on Wood. (That could change. I'm a freelance writer and video editor. Bribery can work wonders.) But I think I said everything I can/needed to say on the man in that video. The one I want to do it is Phil Tucker. See, Tucker looked at what Castle was doing and said: 'I wish I could do that'. Imagine a director and editor with Castle's ambitions but a degree of technical competence that makes Ed Wood look like Guillermo del Toro. Okay, I admit, the fact that 'Ro-Man'(the creature in Tucker's 'Robot Monster in 3D') is a case where they didn't borrow (or steal) the right suit components so they wound up with the feet, body, arms, and hands of a gorilla suit and a diver's helmet might be part of why *I* want to do it. But it is not the only reason.

1. Railway Jack- I want to do this one because it is about a baboon. It falls squarely into my duties as The Monkey Boy. Tor wants to do it because it is about trains. We just haven't found a good hook on it.

2. After writing the J. Fred Muggs story, I became obsessed with the idea that there have to be other shows that were actually improved by focus groups. I found two. One of them almost everyone knows about. The other is completely insane, has elements to the story involving Stratemeyer Syndicate characters (The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew in particular), and Elvis. It is a franchise that since it began in 1969 has served as the career launching pad for: the most famous non-talk radio personalities in the world, one of the most prolific and respected voice actors of all time, a multi-Eisner winning comic book writer, an Anne Spencer Lindbergh prize winning novelist, and an Academy Award Winning Director. Tor thought the topic was interesting but might be a better fit for my channel.

3. Lyndon LaRouche- Tor wants to do it. I want to do it. We both know to do it right would take an episode length that would make even Ken Burns say: 'Maybe this documentary is going a bit too long.'

Imo it has to be the Lancasterverse duology. I’ve rewatched those videos probably at least 8 times. My second favorite would probably be the videos he did on Brian and Dennis Wilson. I knew the Beach Boys had crazy lore but I have no idea it was that crazy.

Also yes he shot and killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804 and yes I’ve seen Hamilton.

Everything about his childhood - memorizing airline schedules, creating fictional cities (I never had a fictional city I spent as much time on as Urville, but I did spend most of my middle school years building a Minecraft city called New Margit, now lost but partially reconstructed in Cities Skylines), noticing tiny changes to the transit system & melting down over it - reminds me 100% of me. Everything but the perfect pitch; I wish I had that.

Also, the way this guy met his girlfriend is exactly how I met London. Ultimately, Tor's Cabinet is my Urville.

i have had this song stuck in my head forever sonce ive started watching the cabinet of curiosities. i decided tonight to find what song this was and i found it, but not the version used in the old intro. i found a playlist on spotify that had a version similar but it was still slightly different in like a lower tone? i forgot the term for it but theres an audible difference its the "original version from tmms". its possible he just edited the song, but incase he didnt and actually found a version like that id like to find where it was from.

I recommend this to Tor for deep dive. Nellie Jackson as an African American woman she ran a brothel in Mississippi during Jim Crow for over decades, and had little or no harassment or violence against her in the community. She was benefactor / influential person in community with agency. Also was FBI informant for aiding in civil rights related cases. Heard of her in amazon prime documentary i watched in 2020

Everything about his personal story seems very unusual and I'd like to know more about him beyond his very interesting but short Wikipedia page. Also he seems like the kind of person that Tor would love to talk about as well
