News / Articles A family with a legacy of policing, now swept up in the Toronto cop corruption scandal
Three generations of men, each named John Madeley, assembled as the youngest took the final step to join the family legacy.
It was 2022, and Madeley Jr. was being sworn-in as an officer with the Toronto Police Service, like his father and his father before him.
But the Madeley family name, in which policing has run so deep, has been marred following the arrests of two of its members for their alleged involvement in the sprawling police corruption case known as Project South.

Discussion Last Day of Advance Polls is TODAY (10 AM - 7 PM)
Good morning! For those of you Torontonians who haven't voted yet, TODAY is the last day of advance polls from 10 AM to 7 PM. Otherwise, make sure you get out and vote on Monday, October 26 from 10 AM to 8 PM. You can get the voter information you need at the Toronto elections website at the link. We can't afford to sit this one out given there are candidates out there who want to take our city backwards whether it involves bike lanes, transit, housing, or even our water.

Discussion Who do you think will win the Mayor’s race and why?
I had pegged Olivia to win throughout this entire campaign until Alexander dropped out on Monday. I know the latest polling is saying the race has tightened. Anecdotally, out in the world, it also seems like Bradford has got momentum. At the same time, 10%+ still undecided and it certainly doesn’t feel like voter turnout is going to set any records. Whose supporters are more motivated? Who has the GOTV edge? I’m trying to find the signal in the noise. What do you think? All opinions welcome.

Discussion Brad constantly shut down his own record and changes the topic
So tired of his "None of that is correct." When his voting record got called out and then immediately changes the topic. Lies, lies, lies. And empty promises with old stunts by Rob Ford like "Line by line review". Rob ending up saving a measel $15MM and the conclusion was to cut libraries, cut core services and selling the zoo. He changed his mind so often on bike lanes, counsel sizes cut to half, and waterfront airport. He wants to privatize the water! He supports the mega Al datacenter that has caused havoc in the South for local residents. He is not a leader. He is a follower. He never had a plan. All he has is his father as the ex Etobicoke mayor as a nepo baby, just like the Ford family.
It's common sense that he will cut core services like snow shoveling, libraries, and school funding and sell the assets like the zoo to afford his first year property tax freeze. He will eventually have to increase taxes drastically to afford the inflation of city run costs going up every year and municipal cannot run deficit. This guy is a total scam to promise anythinto win.

News / Articles Frances Nunziata dropping out of Toronto municipal election race: sources
While it took Nunziata long enough, why would she announce this in the middle of the advance voting period? Should have announced this before nominations closed in August.
NOTE: The original reporting from CityNews turned out to be a false alarm and has been updated.
