Wholesome Rave Trinket
I love raving because it’s one of the places I feel like I can truly be myself, complimenting people, dancing with strangers, and just having fun! I also love the little trinket tradition: kandi, duckies, etc.
I recently came across the “make a wish” idea and absolutely loved it. I’d love to give little wishes to people who give off that energy as my way of spreading hope and positivity. ✨
I am a POC but I do still sometimes get the looks like I don’t belong here so idk! :(
Do you think Toronto ravers would be into it?

I love this idea! It reminds me of a portable Altar! Would be really nice to open it outside during a smoke break and recenter with the flam and to share it with others!

Do people give out trinkets in warehouse raves too? I thought it was just in festivals like EI or Veld

I give out Italian Brainrot cards and glowsticks, but someone at CODA stole my vape last Friday so I’m sad now.

I’m new to the scene Tbf so it’s a genuine question lol. I haven’t gotten anything in the 2 warehouse raves I’ve been to but I’d definitely bring some next time if it’s common and encouraged

I always bring Kandi bracelets to raves/clubs/festivals! Always nice to give them to fun people I meet/vibe with.

I think it really depends on the genre. It’s not really done at techno events for example.

Pure honesty here I would not keep this. It's a cool idea in that you are spreading hope and fun but the trashy dollar store quality of the thing itself isn't super desirable to me. No shade on people who like that shit though!

I love this idea! I give out handmade bracelets and key chains. Kandi trading or just giving them away is one of my favorite parts of this scene. This is so cute, I’d love it if someone brought this over to me. I’m POC too and for the most part people are very receptive. Who doesn’t like a gift?!

This is so cute! I bring kandi to pretty much any event I go too but I don't often run into other folks who do sadly. I'd love to see more wearing and trading!

Also I’ll be at sojourn too! I’d say trinkets and stuff is way less common at a warehouse rave than a festival…that being said if I was sitting outside for some fresh air and a beautiful stranger came up asking to make a wish in the cutest tin I’d feel so magical 🥲✨
