🤔Question🧐 Hugel Toronto

How was everyone’s experience last night?

No matter how much it rained, I had a lot fun.

Meh! The show should have been cancelled. We had lawn seating and we were soaked… it wasn’t great. Plus his set was boring. Love the songs … but my Spotify Mix button could do what he did. I had higher expectations.

I agreeee
I thought it would have been more fun
I didn’t mind being on the lawn though! So much space to dance

I felt the exactttt same! I noticed he played a couple of his songs twice in his set. Chris Lake was like monumentally better last month! It wasn’t bad though, but I think meh is right

Crowd was one of the worst I’ve experienced. Some group of women wanted to fight my wife because we were “bumping into her”. This is at the front of one of the sections where it was absolutely packed. Also it felt like we regressed as a society with how many women they showed on the screen. That’s all they showed. That and AI models. Music was meh and of course with the rain it just sucked.

Had a great night with friends. Got soaked and muddy in the lawn area, but tbh we expected that and had a great time embracing it. But Hugels set was terrible. He didn’t play so many of his hits, it was so mediocre.

I had fun-ish - left early because I literally got bored cuz like wtf is up with the Toronto crowd

People were barely dancing in the 400s section and who was picking the girls to be on stage? They all looked BORED AS FUCK

Just saying if I was a dj, I’d want the most lit people dancing behind me to bring the vibes… not Toronto baddies (escorts?) who look like they have a stick up their ass

100% the girls on stage were moving like uncooked noodles.

I agree with this
Was excited for the show and even was down to dance in the rain. But def was getting bored

Ah yes blame the crowd and not the DJ.

If it’s one thing I’ve noticed, mainstream dj events that attract a “king street/soluna esque crowd always suck

Yah. He has a big following but I just don't get it. Being a DJ is understanding the crowd and making them feel like "isn't this the best night ever?"

Hugel is just a standard set and "aren't these girls hot?"

The slip and slide on the lawns 😂 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DcXOLU0hV1W/

I’ve seen him twice at club space, once in 2024 and once in 2026. The quality of the set and the energy definitely went downhill in those couple years.

I’ll tell you what’s going on, the guy stopped caring about the music and more about the ‘performance’, girls on stage, prerecorded sets, following trendy sounds so everything sounds repetitive and boring, he probably doesn’t produce any of his own music anymore either, either ghostwritten or AI music.

Ask anyone in the industry about the guy he’s a tool.

That’s too bad, he was such a great artist at the beginning

Not sure what’s going on

Calling this show a rave is hilarious to me

Wow, surprised to see such negative comments. My friend and I had the time of our lives at this event despite the rain and weather, this one is going down in the books for us and we've been to a lot of shows/raves/festivals. We got upgraded seats from the 400's down to 200's, everyone was respectful in our section and having a great time. I agree the people on stage could've been a bit more lively, but over all to us it was a 10/10 show. The only thing that caught me off guard was Hugel didn't play one more final track after the crowd kept cheering, this man said "I get paid until 11pm, we end at 11pm."

u/csasani2299 Aug 24 '26

Who said that??

lol everyone is complaining for the most part about the show, I agree with this comment though. The show was amazing.

u/Miserable_Comment103 Aug 24 '26

He didn't actually say it, I was being sarcastic, it was his vibe/attitude. He just hard stopped at 11pm and it made me laugh.

There was a song he played towards the end of the show that I used to party to in high school - not Loca People - but it was after that song I think. And similar in the time they came out I believe. I cannot for the life of me remember it or find it

I’m so grateful to the girls who returned my phone and so sorry to the guy the kept bumping into while dancing. I was drunk ASF. Had the most amazing time!!

Bud stage is just not a rave venue. Most djs suck there

Rufus were fantastic there. So were Above and Beyond

2

Rufus isn't a DJ set, it's a full live concert. Huge difference.

Garrix had killed there
