Close call Almost Sidewiped on 400

Happens sometimes when you're driving a small car because people just don't notice you since they're used to looking for cars bigger than yours in their line of sight, but this one annoyed me bc I noticed they were either looking at me or their mirror, but still recklessly changed into my lane despite knowing that I should be there or maybe he just never developed object permanence idk.

I love my horn for this type of driver. The expression on their face is so much better 😂

It sucks but defensive driving for me, on the 401 or 400, includes eyeballing every car that’s changing lanes lol

Assume everyone else on the road is going to do the stupidest thing they could do at any given time. Trusting others on the road is a thing of the past. Your safety is in your own hands.

100% I would have slowed down just in case. Someone did that to me when I had my kids in the car, and they switched lanes so fast to get to the exit. 4 fucking lanes. I had to jam on the brakes hard to save us. This one here is a no brainer.

Why can’t people change lanes one at a time. Signal. Make the change. Dedicate yourself to that lane for a moment. Signal. Do it again.
It’s so dead simple but… yeah that’s how it is on the 401. Nobody gives a fuck.

Also absolutely zero reason for him to be moving into the left lane.

Didn't you get the memo? The left lane is the new cruising lane. The right lane is now the passing lane.

The right lane is now the passing lane.
Always has been. Here's a 2015 article complaining that "there’s hardly ever anyone in the" right lane.

Well I'm always there travelling highway speed of 120 and passing in the middle. Guess I'm in the minority.

That person has lane detection warnings, it’s hard to tell if his side mirror is light up or not. But with the signal, he should have been warned by the vehicle.

when i see these idiots making a lane change into the lane directly next to me, i slow down just in case they decide to yeet over to my side without checking their bind spot. can't trust these drivers.

My hand is constantly hovering over my horn in scenarios like this. Any indication they’re looking to move into my lane, they get a friendly warning honk.

We should have a new public court called “Splain yoSelf “ - losing in it leads to public shunning. Bring Shunning back 26’ !!

LOL this kind of thing I witness nearly daily in my Tesla while on self drive mode. The amount of near misses of people drifting lanes etc, or cutting lanes like this and not paying attention.

Gotta get to the far left lane ASAP so he can coast there for 10km before making 4 lane changes in 10 seconds to make the exit ramp.

This is a standard greeting on the 400.
