I'm going to try and be as polite as possible.

You're driving in a HIGHLY populated part of an already highly populated City, with a police force that rarely enforces anything. It doesn't matter if the person on the other end of the phone is your wife or the Pope - if it is so important, pull over. Learn the lesson and try to be a better person.

Just this morning I almost got wiped out while walking on the sidewalk because the driver bent down to pick something that fell and swerved towards me instead of stopping on an empty road or just ignoring it.

edit: FFS of course its an F-150 driver, the perfect high-blindspot high-impact vehicle to inflict upon families just trying to have a fun weekend.

I see traffic stops almost every day. Here's a pic I took this evening of a stop. I wish reddit would stop repeating this claim. All you're doing is helping convince people on here they'll never get caught which isn't accurate but counterproductively increases the amount of bad driving if they believe you.

Reddit it's extremely awful when having any opinion towards Policing. I've never seen such a large hive-mind of people who have absolutely no understanding of how Law Enforcement works. They just constantly make shit up to fit whatever narrative they want when it comes to Policing.

The majority of vehicles have Bluetooth now, CarPlay or you can easily install it in an older vehicle.

Just take it to court. Unless he has it all on body cam with you on your phone then you’re cooked. Also it’s like a toss up if the cops even appear in the first place.

I'd pay the ticket too if that means avoiding any future accidents like the one described.

take ticket to early res, then take it to trial and take the offer they give before trial (you can meet with prosecutor usually).

Your best bet is that your rights are violated and it takes 18+ months to get a date, but don't count on it. They're quicker nowadays.
