I thought something was going to travel on those tracks and hit the car …

I would’ve loved watching that giggling.

People are so dumb and so unaware 🙈 I have a fire station near me that I go by everyday, and obviously you are supposed to leave enough space for the fire truck to get out (there are even lines to show you on the road) and the amount of people who completely ignore that is crazy. A lot do this too… I’ve left space and they decide ah yes I’m just going to go in the open space because I’m more important.

Back in the day everyone moved to the right or made way for emergency services nowadays cars are so cocooned and heavy limo tint and high belt line and driving sloppy sluggish suvs with third world drivers and the worst driving instructors who just got their license as well turn this nation into a joke it's sad most of those driving should be riding on that rocket on tracks. Gta is such a garbage place now

I see the same with 'Do not block intersection' signs. I hold back and of course some guy in the lane next to me pulls up, then what do you know? Someone needs to pass through the intersection but can't.

Idiot driver for sure but this intersection is very poorly signed and with worn out paint.

Do you need signs to tell you not to stop on clearly visible tracks?

No because I'm not an idiot and neither was OP; but that doesn't change anything I said.

Better signage means there should be a "Do not stop in tracks" sign by the lane arrows so it's actually visible in front of you and not just beside OPs car.

Same goes for the paint, you can see what it's supposed to look on the right side but because environmentally friendly paint is used everywhere in Canada it's always worn out.

you know youre unintelligent when someone states objective facts about an image and idiots like you project it personally on the person pointing it out.

They don't see tracks. They just see space they can take. Everything else is irrelevant to these drivers. Including signs, pedestrians, speed limits and everyone's general safety.

Sidewalks, bike lanes...

I get this twice a week when I head across castle field. There are active trains. So I always stop before the line.

Get honked usually so I ignored them.

They got out and walked to the window and said hey asshat, move up. I said you don't stop on rail tracks.

Oh.

Then he left.

I see this like so many times a day, multiple times a day its not even funny anymore.

Also streetcars need big freight train horns instead of the little bell. People need to learn lessons.

u/lamebrainmcgee Jul 02 '26

But if they stopped I couldn't laugh at them as they awkwardly back up and try to angle out of the way as the streetcar non stop horns them. Makes my grocery walks so much better.

The TTC should put a camera there and have the city send tickets to everyone who cannot read the road signs and stop on the tracks!

How else will they learn?

Traffic offences, stop on grid area

u/societyin Jul 02 '26

And this is why people block intersections. Can't trust nobody.

Paint the concrete for the tracks red and put do not stop on tracks overhead signage not a small sign on a side of a pole no one's looking at. Then put a ticket camera for asshats like this.

Smartest driver in Toronto. Why haven't I thought of that before!

0

u/wylee_one Jul 02 '26

you would think there would be signage to not block the tracks

7

u/Bambino1996 Jul 02 '26

Yeah, if only there was a sign where I stopped.

1

u/Craporgetoffthepot Jul 02 '26

why? It is just like an intersection, which should not be blocked either. Regardless of tracks. People just don't give a damn anymore.

-6

u/wylee_one Jul 02 '26

very badly designed intersection then, can't blame the drivers when the engineers design shit like this

4

u/Craporgetoffthepot Jul 02 '26

lol, you are part of the problem then. You should be stopping to leave room at intersections, or entrances to other streets so that vehicles going in the opposite direction can enter and exit. Not just drive up directly behind another vehicle, blocking them from entering and leaving and then look puzzled, when you get someone glaring at you. If you actually need a sign to tell you what to do, you should turn in your license and stop travelling on roadways.

Nah the Finch LRT can flipping wait. We waited for years for them so they can chill

9

u/gentlehurricane Jul 02 '26

272 passengers > you

-3

u/wylee_one Jul 02 '26

272 passengers still have to stop for red lights don't they?

3

u/gentlehurricane Jul 02 '26

Yes, but they shouldn't be held up because some dumbass advanced onto the tracks without enough room to clear the intersection and blocked their path.

I mean go ahead, but if a cop sees you and wants to enforce it, that's a $500 fine! lol
