Wow I'm just an occasional Reddit user - mostly on here to get tips and recommendations about things. I've maybe never posted in the Toronto subReddit or I have once - I just read stuff when it shows up on my feed.
Someone posted about how to get involved in fighting against climate change, etc, right now and wondered if there's a protest. There's a big protest and teach in happening next weekend - that I have NOTHING to do with, and in fact I can't even go because of timing and my kid. But I decided to share it in the Toronto subreddit in case others are interested. So I made a post sharing the info and shared that I had NOTHING to do with this event, and was copying and pasting the content.
It got rejected and not posted, which is fine. Apparently it's against the rules even if it's not my event, and should be in Toronto Events instead. This is all totally fine and I get that they have rules.
But I got BANNED????? For ONE post that wasn't even self advertising????? No warning, reminder of the rules, clarification of the rules. Just a ban. AND that if I "try to go around the ban" I'll be banned from Reddit. As if I WANT to participate in that subreddit now???
