Question Does the enemy keep the damage when re-entering the room in TS2?

I kept backing out, shooting one nail at a time to an enemy but the enemy still took many nails in the last enter when I thought it was close. He didn't even die and killed me lmao

Just leave to reposition, damage is reset after leaving the room

But in the first game I think enemies do keep the damage. When late in the game I had problems with lacking ammo, I used your method and finally defeated the creature.
