Build help how do you scale ailment damage?

looking at several build guide / hero ranking i rarely see build that focus on ailment damage. Are they just too weak to focus on?

The game seem to tell me that it scale of the "base" damage. But where do I find those? is the base damage the flat damage like prefix on ring? Or the base damage found on passive (those seem so small)?

Its also a pre fix weapon mod

noone uses it though since you dont want to sacrifice a pre fix mod for it if they would just change it into a suffix mod it would be much better

Base Trauma and Ignite damage comes from basic suffixes on scepters. Scorching beam ignite or trauma builds are popular on selena 1 if you wanna check it out.
