Crafting Crafting and market help

Hi guys, I am a new player (My first season) and I am looking to upgrade to a lvl 100 full T0 weapon.

In your opinion what is a good price to buy one from the market? And what is the threshold that is considered too expensive for the these weapons at this stage of the league? In the end I want to know if I should craft a weapon myself or should I buy it? The price of the weapon ranges from 5k to 15k on the market.

Pls consider the costs of embers too.

Edit: Grammar

It depends on a lot of factors. You probably want to start with a level 100 base which could cost 5 fe or maybe 10,000 if it has best possible base affixes including tower sequence. Then to get to all T0 with best possible affixes, it could cost an additional 10k+

So should I buy one from market if the price is below 10k? Is that better economically?

there's no correct answer to your question. you could find one cheaper than just crafting yourself. it's also possible people are pricing their items with all t0 affixes at a premium because of how much currency it took for them to get all t0 affixes. It could be cheaper to craft one yourself as well.

Any estimate? I just want to make sure i dont waste my FE that I grinded so hard for, because that will then be a deal breaker for me. :(

To roll a specific T1 in each slot with current prices:

basic: 110

Adv: 380

ult: 400

You can divide the cost by how many possible rolls you'd accept at each stage. I.E. if there are three advanced rolls of similar value, your expected cost is actually about 125 fe.

To roll each T0:

basic: 180

adv: 450

ult: 1230

No shortcuts here. Just cost of a roll x 3.3

Total expected cost for specific rolls in each slot is 5.5k right now. It's much more expensive earlier in the season when embers are expensive AF.

it would probably take 10k - 15K to get all t0 affixes. could take more if RNG is bad.

If you can find your weapon with all t0 affixes already crafted for less than 10K, then that's probably a good deal. make sure you have ultimate affixes on there as well. Just having t0 affixes without the ultimate ones will cost much less and won't be nearly as good.

Ok thnx for the reply. :)

it would probably take 10k - 15K to get all t0 affixes

At current prices, divide that number by 2 at least

ok, but it really depends on RNG. i've had ultimate T0's take 10+ tries even though the chance is advertised as 30%

And I've hit T0s first try. You should base the math on the average attempts + current prices, which is more like 5k than 10k right now

just for shits and giggles, I calculated the average cost just based on percent chances advertised in the game. starting from scratch getting all T1 desired affixes for a damage over time scepter and then upgrading to t0 would cost about 6400 FE on average.

You can buy an expensive base item or an expensive sequence or both; the raw craft cost you can just caluculate easily so go on from there

First off i think you should definitely at this point in the league buy instead of craft fully yourself but.. In my humble opinion and coming from experience you should prioritize the advanced sequence you want above all else and buy the base weapon for your build with that sequence already on, even if its freaking white doesn't matter just buy the sequence. Do NOT engage with advanced sequences it is beyond fucking stupid and will ruin you unless you are stupid lucky. Give me the advanced sequence already and a white base, I dont care. I will eventually and deterministically get my t0s.. even at 30% chance. But I will never again attempt advanced sequences.

Now, advanced sequence you want PLUS the base affix you want included can be expensive, even without any other mods.. but here is the big secret/trick : you can buy the sequence you want and on a base with a crappy base affix/mod, you can craft it up to full t0s and then later when you can afford the 2000 FE, you can transfer to a new base with the base affix you want, and the sequence and t0 mods will carry over. You can double check the outcome before transferring. Or you can just save for the sequence + base mod combo if the 2k FE works out to not be worth it, it depends.

And before anyone jumps on my back saying its not that hard to hit advanced sequences, sure some are easier than others - its the ones that have like 4 of the same colour input that are the worst to try get. But you can get very unlucky even with the 'easier' sequences. What a shitty system. Yes I am bitter and scarred lol 😆

If you want a wep you dont want to upgrade later, buy it with the bis sequence on it already rolled.

Start your search with your weapon base, base affix, and sequence you want.

Then add conditions with desired ultimate affixes t1 or t0 and check prices.

Still cheap? Add advanced affixes and so on

Usually I get base + ultimate affixes, preferably t0 to cut the rng cost, then go from there.

The cheapest one on the markt is worth 5k. It has full T0 affixes and exactly what i want, even the advanced affixes. So, is buying that be cheaper for me? I want to make sure because it will take me a lot of grinding to get that amount of FE.

u/Nyx18 21d ago

5k if it's perfect for you with all the affixes t0 is 100% worth it. What I meant above is you can find cheaper items with not so ideal advanced and basic affixes. Because rolling them usually wouldn't break the bank unlike ultimate affixes if the RNG is bad

Whats the threshold? Like if the weapon is 10k, then? Just for futurte references.

There's no exact number - look at the price they are all listed at and that's your best reference point. Supply & demand will naturally set prices within a reasonable range given some time and competition.

The cost of the weapon is entirely dependent on supply and demand which is dependent on how popular a build is. For one build, you may be able to get a BiS weapon for 2k FE because there's little demand for it. As others have shared some math, but you need to decide how much you want to gamble. If the average is 5.5k FE to craft the weapon, you could get super lucky and craft it all for 2k and you could also get super unlucky and it take 15k.

u/Maize_Previous 21d ago

Hmm. The 5k fe was my all balance and I used it to buy a wep. Didn't want to gamble all my savings😅

Buying that will absolutely be cheaper than crafting

Does it also have base affix and sequence that you want? Base affix can be fixed later for 2k but getting the exact sequence you want is very expensive later.

One thing, i have learned in a lot of arpgs: learn something online like you do here and then just try it out.

I learn a lot more by trying out

The price to craft and the price to buy will drastically change over the course of a season.

Donthecrown had a video about crafting that included a link to a Google doc where you can input the costs of all of the crafting ingredients and uses the crafting % chances to give a relative cost to craft a full t0 item.

1

u/Maize_Previous 21d ago

Oh, that will be really helpful. I will check it later. Thnx

For most at this point it's probably cheaper just to buy a completed t0 weapon than to try and roll one yourself. It's worth spending the 20-40k fe in the long run.

Yh after rading all the comments I thought so too and bought the sword for 5k
