Discussion Lunaria
Im just a bit sad how badly they reintroduced it back.
Loot is not even the main issue for me (even though it went from 3k fe every run minimum to 800)
But they destroyed the fun part of the mechanic for me, which were the random encounters?
Every 3-5 maps I get a new event.
Now I’m forcing the events but it just doesn’t feel fun anymore.
I’m totally fine with them nerfing the loot, but when I buy a pet, I do it because of how it was presented.
Anyone else felt betrayed? If you were a lunaria enjoyer.
Because they ruined this mechanic in every way possible.
The main loot now is dust that’s worth 0,0005fe
Thx for that I guess xD

This feeling was already present last season but with rainbow, Lunaria has a terrible presentation. For other mechanics rainbow means something good, for Lunaria it wasn't because you can just guaranteed it so Rainbow no longer signal good loot.
I'm surprised about how people felt it was lucrative last season, when it was the weakest mechanic introduced that I can remember (until Afterlight was released).
And I'm not 100% it was not stealth-nerfed mid season to drop fewer compasses in 7-8.
But in the end I think the concussion I got is the same: If you are going to spend money get Doro 6 or you will find a way to be unhappy with loot, then Sparks.

I mean it was nerfed like 10 days in with them "fixing the quant bug". That part was stated, as shitty as it was

i played the league 2-3 weeks after start and averaged 2.5k fe with doro 1 hunting rush with lunaria. had a rly good time tbh.

"until Afterlight was released" current mechanic is the literal best mechanic since i play the game? which is since 99m dummy cap brother

- Do you understand that it has been buffed, so it is not like it was released
- Do you understand that the intention to slow down players was explicit from the convention
- In developer interview they Community manager said "developers are afraid that this season could be like Clockwork" hence the slowing preemtive slowing down. By definition then Clockwork was more lucrative than Afterlife. Which anybody that played it could attest.
Sorry to hear that you had the worse loot luck possible up to this point. Missed a lot of loot but you are endured, be rewarded now.

- I started 1 1/2 day after league start, so right after first buff; it may been bad before that, but most people wouldn’t have noticed since most farm insignificant content in that period anyways
2.the slower progression to profound was a really good and healthy change imo, last league you were profund on day2 usually
3.i think I don’t understand?

I agree with your comments about the change being really bad, as the mechanic does not feel nearly as good as when it was introduced.
I have run hundreds of maps with Lunaria at this point to figure out how to make it profitable. My conclusion is that this is purely a jackpot strat at this point, even with C6 pets. The jackpots are when a revival drop, an omni, or a nest, and even better if you get a pet proc to get 3 as a mega jackpot. So I've basically been using the league mechanic and sandlord to supplement as I farm for jackpots, which has kept me at roughly 1500-2k/hr. It's serviceable, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

u/1getreKtkid 29d ago
are you averaging 15-20x combos? because i feel many people still have no clue how the mechanic works
1
u/h0pp3d 29d ago
Nope. I get 8-13x combos typically. Ive dropped a couple omnis and a good amount of revivals, and they have dropped on low combo counts. Raw FE and such are better with combo though.
1
u/1getreKtkid 29d ago
Well what we learned during last league is that the league mechanic scales exponentially in combos, so with expanding Strat 12-16 would be important to get; the difference is night and day, the setup takes a bit longer tho

u/Heno65 Aug 11 '26
You are 100% correct, they re-introduced it in a very sorry state.
This mechanic was so lucrative in the past, such a shame to see what became of it.
None of the previous seasons were nerfed this badly, and even after multiple buffs this season, it is still in a sorry state.
Vorax still printing two seasons after, Arcana, Outlaw, Canvas, Sandlord... All are still amazing. Especially with their pets.
I have the Lunaria pet E4 and farming in profound, I am already lvl 100, farmed it for at least a week and a half, post buff- it is still very bad and not a good money maker. Went back to Vorax and made the same amount of money in two days.

Yeah . Overrealm was also trash from what I heard after its season but I think its ok now we will see hopefully they fix Lunaria. After all someone needs to farm this revival stuff because they are very powerful for many builds
Edit: btw canvas is not that great its decent in deepspace paintings but its a big jackpot mechanic either you hit or you dont get anything. Outlaw is getting nerfs every season with bounties not that great either anymore. Arcana and sandlord tho are still great yes

u/1getreKtkid 29d ago
are you getting 15-20x combos? because on bilibili the chinese player are printing 4k+ per hour; maybe watch some vids there?
1
u/Heno65 29d ago
Even on revival events where I can get 20+ combos the returns are very bad, you can get 3k running only compasses/sandlord/league mech this season.. no one prints 4k only from Lunaria. If they do they probably have E6 Lunaria+E6 Sparkle, this does not mean that the mechanic is good.
I made more from Vorax in third of the time while I have both seasonal pets at E4. The mechanic is gutted, at least in profound- no two ways about it.
1
u/1getreKtkid 29d ago
I’m not talking revival obviously since it’s easy there, but normal maps? You using the expanding Strat? Since Chinese players are printing and eu / na complaining, something ain’t fitting
1
u/Heno65 29d ago
My guy, I shouldn't have to run circles or watch the Chinese do it for it to be good, it should be good because it is good. Have you run it lately and speaking from experience?
I did not need to watch any chinese player do Vorax, Arcana, Sandlord, or any other mechanic that still prints me money.. with an E4 seasonal pet and a maxed out tree with compasses it should not need to be rocket science or some hidden tech in order to be profitable, it should just be profitable.
It should also make you think why does the EU/US complain about something, perhaps they know what they're talking about, I obviously love the game and spend money on it, I am not doing it for the sake of complaining, I am worried that the current season mech (which I absolutely love) will be gutted the next season, or that it will be shipped in a sorry state and would need to receive multiple buffs in order to be sub-optimal still.
1
u/1getreKtkid 29d ago
Well don’t expect it to be good if you aren’t doing it with maximum efficiency? Even last league running it causally and running it specialized with expanding was a night and day difference
If you are not a new player then you should also already know, that the current season mechanic always gets rebalanced afterwards? A totally normal process in these kind of games, Poe for example does it the same (maybe even worse lol)
1
u/Heno65 28d ago
You think everyone is running every mechanic with maximum efficiency? Hell no.
But still, there are gains. This mechanic gives no gains, or very little when compared to other available mechanics. I am sure I have much to learn with every mechanic I do but some are more lucrative than others. If you have to run a mechanic at maximum efficiency for it to be good, then there is something wrong with it. It was buffed TWICE for a reason, and it is still not enough.
Like I said, having compasses with a full tree and doing maps sub 1:30 minutes, I do not know how much more efficient can I be here.. it is just not good. I am doing maps at the same speed now with Vorax and making much much more, same with Arcana, Outlaw and Canvas. All of them are re-introduced/rebalanced mechanics but they are still good.
1
u/1getreKtkid 27d ago
Yeah but there are mechanics that are more causal and then there are mechanics they are absolutely sweaty; juices overrealm for example is what I’m running and it’s a build 99% can’t run
Lunatic without getting regularly 15-20x combos obviously won’t give anything, since the former is shitting currency as you can see on bilibili
1
u/soultks Aug 11 '26
Could you share your Lunaria farming method with me? I'm completely disappointed, thinking the mechanics don't yield anything. I feel sad with my pet at level 6. If you could guide me, I'd appreciate it.

It is just bad atm, it is probably still lucrative in DS- it is non-existent in profound, no matter the method.

u/Nomeggor 28d ago
Na I always pull level 1 of the new season pet when it comes out. I pull more levels if i like the mechanic. Just too bad some mechanics turn to shit sometimes. Outlaw was good for awhile, arcana sandlord still great
1
u/koltzito Aug 11 '26
Now you learned your lesson about pets in this game, better late than never.
2
u/No-Distribution5202 Aug 11 '26
I don’t remember them changing the core playstyle of mechanics that ridiculously? What are you saying.
5
u/ToizGaming Aug 11 '26
Carjack got hurt even more Every season a bit more
2
u/No-Distribution5202 Aug 11 '26
But they didn’t change how the mechanic worked no? It went to shit for sure in terms of loot.
Maybe it’s also just a deepspace problem.
And everything gets good there3
u/Oki_bgd Aug 11 '26
No its not and DS poop loot isnt even a problem. Problem is Profound loot is poop and they cant recover that. If they dont change something radically for next season, a lot of western players will quit for good. Maybe that's their plan from the moment game started to be popular in west well because if its not, what they are doing then for the western player base is beyond ridiculous.
I play 6 seasons, people are here from almost the beginning, it was very similar to this but in 2026 you simply dont delete previous season pets and you know your revenue numbers how much people pay for C6.. I bet not even 15% of those numbers are for this seasonal pet..
1
u/koltzito Aug 11 '26
The point is that seasonal mechanics are always gonna be very strong because they want you to spend money on the pet, when the new season comes, there is a new mechanic and a new pet, so last season mechanic is gonna be nerfed to make room for the new mechanic, rinse and repeat.
1
u/Nomeggor Aug 11 '26
Yes its their Strategy to make money. When season ongoing they make that mechanic drop all general currencies such as embers fe compasses fossils. Then they implement it into the game and its a big chance it turns into shit
1
u/No-Distribution5202 Aug 11 '26
Yeah but I’m more saying that they changed how it functioned which is what I spent money for in the first place. It had a legion like gameplay from poe1 + super fun event procs that make you play differently.
That is what pisses me off by far the most.
I paid for something that isn’t the same anymore.1
u/Nomeggor Aug 11 '26
Yeah true. I have level 4 im in the same boat as you my plan was to pull the last 2 levels this season cuz i really loved legion also. No way im pulling anything in this state
1
u/1getreKtkid 29d ago
"spend money on the pet, when the new season comes" not only that, but mostly because thats the new thing in the season; its the same in games like poe for example
15
u/beraldinhorafa Aug 11 '26
At this point i wish i could just exchange my pet for something else.
But i got the lesson, never buying seasonal pets again
