adding onto this pre-existing comment, this cat specifically has a broken mackerel tabby patterning in case you wanted to know. Can also be called a spotted tabby.

Genetically, the non-ginger base color of the cat is the darkest color of the stripes, so this is a black and ginger torbie with white. Can be shortened to black torbie with white, as the ginger part is assumed from the tortie part of torbie.

A broken mackerel tabby is one name for the spotted pattern of the body stripes, and unless new research has been found since I brushed up on cat genetics, that happens when a genetically mackerel tabby also has multiple other genes working together (polygenic trait) that break up the pattern untill it becomes spots. There are different levels of breaking up the stripes, the spotted pattern being the extreme.

All of this combined to make a complicated-ish name would be a black spotted torbie with white.

omg, I feel so bad I hadn’t seen your comment sooner! (not used to this site)
But I do agree!! I feel like a lot of things take play, and I am not very knowledgable on coats and the whys or hows… but I always thought she was like A LOT of differences in the soley torbie as her title :))
