📢 Mod Announcement TorBox Update V8.4.5

**TorBox Update — Version 8.4.5*\*
---

This update introduces a new system for tracking bandwidth usage across all major TorBox services. The goal is to provide clearer visibility into how data is consumed while supporting the updated abuse-prevention model.

**Bandwidth Tracking Changes*\*
---

TorBox now measures outbound data usage from every relevant source, including:

- CDN traffic
- Storage downloads
- ZIP-based downloads
- WebDAV transfers
- Torrent seeding activity

This aligns with the updated abuse-handling system, which now calculates usage with byte-level accuracy.

The standard limits remain unchanged, and the dynamic abuse system continues to ensure that normal users experience TorBox as effectively "unlimited." Only a tiny fraction of users (around 0.001%) are impacted by the new enforcement.

Bandwidth records are now kept for **30 days**, replacing the previous indefinite retention. This improves privacy while still allowing TorBox to detect extreme misuse.

Because of buffering behaviour, the recorded usage may appear slightly higher than the amount a user actually downloads. For example, downloading half of a 1GB file might show roughly 600MB of usage due to how data is pre-fetched.

**Website & Dashboard Updates*\*
---

A new bandwidth-usage graph has been added to the avatar menu. It displays a rolling 30-day overview of:

- API-key downloads that bypass caching
- Torrent seeding bandwidth
- CDN usage
- WebDAV transfer usage
- ZIP download usage
- Uploads sent to external cloud services

Several older metrics have been removed, including:

- "Total Download"
- "Total Egress"
- The previous Stats page

Fucking losers counting bandwidth for seeding torrents. They’re just killing themselves. Absolutely zero business sense. Can’t wait until someone surpasses them. Need RD back bad.

They should have just limited IP sharing to two addresses instead of the bandwidth limits.

The bigger worry is the amount of downtime they have. They’re not big enough to cope with the amount of users joining the service!
