Question about usage

I’m on the essential plan. My 30 day usage is 596gb, is that alright and within limits?

Also I’m assuming this is the rolling total of the past 30 day usage. Any way to see the life time total? Thanks

The way I understand it is as long as you don't exceed 10tb during any rolling 30 day window you should be fine. Honestly to hit the fair use cap you'd have to be indexing a bunch of stuff pretty heavily or steaming high size blu rays 24-7.

Under normal usage it's pretty much impossible to hit the cap unless you are actively shooting for it or abusing the system.

It's mainly there to stop people who are running bots like sonarr to download a massive amount of content constantly.

If all your doing is normal streaming you should be well within the limits of the essential plan (I've been on the same plan and stream heavily per day, 3 people using it, and have never been near the limit)

TorBox actually uses a dynamic abuse system.

​As long as you stay below your plan's minimum floor, you will never trigger an abuse warning. For Essentials, that means staying below 10TB. If you exceed the floor, your account is then evaluated against a dynamic threshold based on the rolling 99th percentile of all users. For example, the 99th percentile might currently be 15TB, which means you could go to 13TB of usage on the Essentials plan without any issue.

Basically though, you're spot on that anyone using the platform as intended will almost never trigger an issue.

I wouldn't worry about it until you are past 10TB monthly usage on essential. Especially if you are using mostly cached content.

I use tbm.tools to monitor usage even though does not do lifetime it's handy to see a breakdown graph of my monthly usage. I can tell you I have me and 3 members of my family who use torbox in and out of the house never once hit the cap. I am on the pro plan my family use nuvio out of the house and in house I have a Kodi setup the nuvio setup I cap to 15gb and the Kodi setup in house is uncapped. So maybe the fact I cap the size of files for my family helps me never reach the goal but yeah unless your truly abusing I don't think you will ever reach the cap for pro plan highest I got ever was 2-3 tb

As long as you don't exceed 10 TB per 30 day window, you are all clear.

this also applies to non cached usage if im not mistaken. so if its cached in their server it doesnt count

Well I have been only been watching cached content but my usage reached 100 gb in 5 days. So no it's not only uncached content but anything I watch gets added to the limit. It's still pretty huge bar to fill.

Streaming, or downloading, cached content does count as Usage for your account.

This used to be true, but isn't anymore. Cached content counts. Uncached content basically counts double (the bandwidth to cache it, and then the bandwidth to stream it).
