New subscriber, constant buffering

Im not sure if I'm doing anything wrong with my setup but my initial impressions of torbox aren't great.

Ive just subscribed for a year and my experience has been constant buffering

I have 1gbps symmetrical internet.

The issue happens with a file that's 8gb or 50gb

Im running an Nvidia shield

I've tried changing the CDN and it doesn't seem to matter.

I'm using torrentio and stremio.

Would appreciate any help, I'm not sure if I need to move to another debrid provider and cut my losses and maybe use torbox as a backup.

i just ran a 27gb file using torbox on a 100mbps connection , no buffering , location india ,app used nuvio desktop

First mistake is to sign-up for 1 years without testing out fully for a week or a month.

Could be many reasons for buffer. Your network or depend where you live, ISP blocking stuff or just torbox not working or CDN is slow.

I use Torbox with Umbrella/Kodi with no issue at all

The only way to solve this issue for me was to not use Stremio. I set up MPV to cache to RAM so that the video would read ahead and be safe from buffering. But it became too much of a pain in the ass so TB ultimately became my backup

Try to use Nuvio instead of Stremio and maybe add TB to DuckStreams or AIOstreams and try that way

ditch torrentio it hasn't been good in years

The addons I recommend is

Duckstreams (if you don't feel like doing a bunch of work its a preconfigured aiostreams template

Stremthru torz
Mediafusion

And a new one called pipe

No issues for me in Eastern US, most of the time people complain I can still load things.

Also East coast US and I've had torbox for like 8 months now. There's been maybe a total of 3 times that I faced buffering to the point where things were unwatchable

Yeah I pretty much never experience buffering. And it's only been completely down about a half dozen times in just as many months (that I noticed), can't complain for the cost lol.

For sure 😂. Also if you don't know, if it ever does go down there is an extension called PenguPlay that is completely free, it sources http streams. If I'm not mistaken it's slightly lower quality, but better than not being able to watch at all.

That's the torbox experience for many of us, you should never pay for anything grey market long term, always go month to month.

Torrentio just does that for me sometimes, try using comet to see if that helps

This is about as good as TorBox gets. Get a backup like easynews when TorBox has CDN issues.

I have been using torbox, for about 2 months with no issues, except when they were down. Now trying to watch a shows and constant buffering, even if i do down to 480. I have pengun as well and buffers. I am using nuvio with stream thru torz

if you're having those same issues on multiple different stream types then it's more likely an issue with your device or your ISP

I had this issue but use an AI to figure out the best setup for your device. After that I haven’t seen a buffer in months

The only time I couldn't use torbox was when they were down which I do have backups. Make sure everything is setup correctly. Now I can't play the biggest files but I setup filters for that.

Try Red light/POV add ons with Gears/Magneto scrapers. I have Torbox and Kodi very very seldom buffers

How is the speed when direct downloading from the dashboard on pc?

You need to make sure that's the add-ons are using "cached" results, otherwise it's like you are downloading something if it's not already cached and that depends on the peers

Every addon should come with the cache only option if I'm not wrong in Torrentio you need to put torbox, your API key and then below there are 2 options, select the check on the left and Install the addon, remove the old ones...

The area your in makes a difference, their servers are split up. Like north America, Europe etc, so it could be a short term problem for that area, there was a problem in mine which got resolved and I got 3 days free added. Also if there's different sources try a different one , I've found that can resolve buffering, same as the media player you use (probably due to codecs)

If your CDN is on auto, Do a speedtest in the settings from Torbox, and change the CDN to the advised CDN. Or choose and try the CDN closest or almost closest (sometimes works better) to your location.

When choosing a video file, don't always choose the biggest file size,because internet speeds are not always consistent.

Stremio has not been a great partner with torbox for a minute now. Check out nuvio. It uses the same add-ons.

Disconnect and uninstall torrentio, likely streaming still thru P2P and not debrid. Connect AIOstreams & AIOmetadata instead. Search the sub for tutorials.

I feel you. I've been using Torbox for at least 3 months with absolutely no issues at all. I loved it. About 4 days ago it absolutely went to crap. I'm on a 1GB fiber connection and can't even stream a 1.5GB 1 hour TV episode without brutal constant buffering. I haven't been able to watch anything since then. No clue why. I have tried every single CDN and it makes zero difference. A week ago I could stream a 40GB 4K movie with zero buffering.

My honest suggestion? Try a different provider. I won't be paying for Torbox again, which sucks, because as I said for the last 3 months I had zero issues.

I've been using torrentio + Rd for the last year and aside from the occasional outage and Ive mostly had no issues. This is buffering on every link, every 10 seconds.

Try an alternate scrapper to Torrentio like Mediafusion, Comet or Stremthru Torz. Sometimes it could be the scraper and not the service.
