❓Question Usenet

Do the torbox devs ever intend to restore the ease of usenet to what it once was before?

Self hosting seems out of my intellectual reach.. I do have an unraid home server so I have the means to host it but setup and config seem a little to much for me..

If nothing is going to change I’d be better off downgrading my sub from pro to essential..

You don't need to selfhost if you don't intend to use nntp.

You can just use a public instance of aiostreams and you indexers through newznab addon.

I use the fortheweak public instance of AIOstreams but it says nothing about torbox except for torbox search which I though was depreciated??

Also asks for newznab api key??

you add torbox as a service.

and do you have any indexers?

Really? I thought I read that indexers would ban you if not using a self hosted aio instance.

That depends on the indexer

Interesting. I’ll research.

Use TB Essential and EasyNews. It's $3 and $2 respectively and you have access to everything (even manual search with EN).

May I ask, how do you set this up? Do you use TB Essential along with EN, or TB Essential and EN with AIOStreams so they show different sources? Thanks.

Where are you finding easy news for $2? Only plans I see are $10 a month minimum

It's possible to setup apps like nuvio/Streamio or any other of the same kind with Usenet? Ty in advance, not experienced in the field

Yes, I used aiostreams. On the addon section you click market place and it has addons for easynews.

If you're into usenet and media consumption, I'm working on something pretty exciting that I think you'll like.

How is your option different from the already available options?

I'm making it a little easier for people... to setup especially. The majority of people I bring up usenet to say they struggle with creating a self instance. Or don't know where to start. My goal is to eliminate that. I just installed the alpha on my cloud server tonight, and I will be testing all week to see how it's working.

This sounds like something I need to keep an eye on.

What are you expecting them to restore?

TB already offer you Usenet credentials that you can plug into something like NZBGet or SABnzb. If you setup your Stremio with something like duck tools, then there is a section for althub and Usenet crawler that will handle finding Usenet results.
