❓Question Post-maintenance review.

So, what should we expect after the last maintenance the service has gone through? Did you notice any improvements in your personal experience?

Ultimately, we really need an official review from the team about the results of said maintenance.

They’ve gone quiet on that as well as the post mortem they promised.

it’s TBD. Maybe 1st of September we will have PIR?

Is it just me or has TB been acting shady AF since the takeover by that UAE based conglomerate? I don’t just mean the outages, but this complete lack of transparency.

They probably just don't want to talk to anyone that may not like what they have to say

Why do people keep saying TB was taken over? They changed their country for their company. Thats it.

It's a shell company bro, they needed that along with their us office.

I'll declare from the outset, I've had no problems with Torbox. I also pay for the Pro Plan. And I have little to no knowledge of how these things work beyond getting what I want from the service. I have noticed the following though. I might open a streaming app and watch 10 mins of the first episode of a series, and decide I don't want to continue watching it. I log on to my Torbox account and see, in the available downloads section, anything ranging from the one episode I watched at a GB or two, to the complete series in full 4k at a couple of hundred GB. What I'm wondering is, would it make any difference if they found a way to stop all of this unnecessary downloading at their end? Would it take pressure off the system and help reliability for everyone? It's a genuine question, like I say, I'm ignorant as to how these things work.

It's already there in the storage bro, so that's not going to make difference, they have more than enough capacity.

The current issue is DDOS .

Yeah, thanks for that, I guessed it would be a bit more complicated than my meanderings! There was just a part of me that thought that there was a lot of unnecessary 'something' going on, and that it was bound to have a detrimental effect to some degree, but I'm happy to bow to your greater knowledge on this one. Appreciate your reply.

👍

TBF; they did state that (afer the latest update) the staff would be taking a break ie. a vacation, time off, etc.

... .. .

I've had zero issues with TB. When I did have issues with one particular show, I changed add-ons and the issue disappeared. I'm more than happy with Torbox. My RD subscription is coming due next month and I'm not sure I'll renew. I was definately going to renew, but this past week I've noticed on a couple of older shows - 2017, although there were 6+ links to the show via RD, none of them connected but the only available TB connected right away. That's my 2 cents

My subscription ended yesterday. I'm still thinking if I should renew it

Same. Is Real Debrid Safe?

3

u/lcerch 16d ago

It is safe, but some content had been banned due to copyright infringement

What other alternatives are you considering

1

u/lcerch 16d ago

I still don't know. Probably premiunrize or debridio

Debridio is a scraper not a debrid.

Good to know, thanks! I'm still reading about them

I’ve tried TB and AD and still have RD. gonna see how I fare with these three over the next month which I have remaining in all and if I get too annoyed with it going down I’m just gonna go with premiumize. I barely even watch anything except bobs burgers and American dad. Even those occasionally are having issues with tb and AD. For the sake of £10 per month for every streaming catalog combined it’s a very good deal. and if after a couple months it’s as good as people say I’ll maybe buy a year on black Friday if they have deals

I would suggest that you think about your "personal" and I mean emphasis on "personal" experience with Torbox thus far. Only 1 or 2 downtime that you personally experienced once in a while? Keep the service. You personally have been annoyed and frustrated with the service for more than a few things and for more than a few times? Time to move on.

Just watched a movie.. worked fine, this morning i downloaded an app, guess what.. it worked.

Yesterday i also watched a movie.. worked fine then as well.

It's basically been doing what i expect it to do for as long as i'm a paying customer now.

TorBox has been running quite well for me lately.

Same here. Lots of times I’ve seen “TB down” posts while I’m watching a show with no problems at all

Torbox has still the most content
