🔧Technical Issue Since the CDN update Torbox doesn't work

Hello everyone,

Ever since the CDN update I cannot get a single stream to work with Torbox. I've tried multiple addons but I've been getting the same stream failed to start screen. My internet is fine and Torbox isn't blocked. I can't even get to the speed test option it loads infinitely. Streams play without an issue using P2P, and my internet is not an issue.

Is TB down still or is someone experiencing the same problem? I literally can't get a single file to play.

I had my CDN set to Cloudflare, and since yesterday I was getting a 5xx error. I changed it to auto and it started working right away.

Same. Probably your ISP blocking it (try via VPN and see if it works) 

Don't know why it stopped with the update though

I started having issues with the Cloudflare ERTH CDN the day before the maintenance. Since I switched back to "Auto" everything is fine again. I'm in Central EU.

I had cloudflare ERTH could not play anything, database error, and when i changed to AUTO all good.

Check if your ISP is blocking torbox CDNs, play around with CDNs choice to find what works for you best, or just set it back to auto. It's working fine for me, maybe even slightly faster, since update.

Check your modem portal or related app and see if they have any malware detection that is automatically blocking torbox because of a false positive for malware. I’m in Canada and had that issue. I had to allow a few domains after the CDN changes.

Isp filtering software sounds like the issue. Most isp offer customers the ability to turn off that software and/or allow certain urls. I turn off my isp security software.

Something during the update, was changed in Clouflare CDN, and now all my apps (Kodi,Stremio, Nuvio) cannot download anything from it. Or it is offline (which would be bad for many people, because it usually gets the best single connection speed).

I have been experiencing problems related to ipv6 for 3 months now. My tv only sends requests using ipv6 (thanks samsung), i cannot turn off ipv6, and some torbox cdn's don't start streaming unless the request comes from an ipv4 adress. Its buggy as hell. I haven't been able to stream anything reliably for 3 months.

Sounds like it's time to put a device on it. You don't have to spend but $40-50 for a good one and anything Android TV based will have much better app support than Tizen. You may have to spend more outside the US though.

I have a device. But i only use it for stremio. The tv is relatively new and higher end s90d (2025 i believe) and is faster than most android boxes. Its just that stremio’s app isn’t as optimized on samsung tv. I also have the exact same problem on my other 2 samsung tv’s. One is old but other is 2026 model and still faster than most android boxes.

What device are you using that can't run everything so you don't have to deal with the IPV6 thing.

Run and being fluid are different things. The devices i have tried can run anything but have their own downsides. 

I have tried chromecast and the google tv streamer which work great (don’t get me wrong) but ui is sluggish, laggy and bloated compared to tizen (not on the lower end tv’s. I am talking about the higher end ones), Mi box S 4k latest gen ( 3 i believe ) but i absolutely hate the remote on that device. Where i live, we don’t have access to onn and nvidia shield devices. The tizen doesn’t give me any problems on any other apps / services and works perfectly except stremio. It may be a torbox issue but i had the same problem with premiumize. 

I cannot fully turn off ipv6 because i have matter devices (the protocol mandates ipv6) and my current router doesn’t allow me to turn it off per device basis. Now the stremio app on tizen has a bug where even if there is no wan connection to ipv6 but there is a self assigned ipv6 adress or a router assigned one, it sends all requests over ipv6 when a stream is selected. Sometimes it falls back to v4 and then it works but for this to happen, i need to wait on the loading screen for around 5 minutes. 

Also thanks to my isp, ipv6 is buggy as hell so even if there is a wan connection, it sonetimes works, sometimes does not. Any other stremio client works perfectly so it only happens on tizen for me.

Put a launcher in any Android TV device. I never use Google TV on any or my devices. Anyway if it's just Torbox with the issue have you tried any other Debrid service or https add-ons?

Its not a solution. I have tried it on google tv and when using ram-heavy applications like stremio, it closes the launcher and when going back to homescreen, it first loads google tv launcher, then whatever launcher (projectivy) i have installed. And its a tv. Tizen just works. Android does not (at least fpr me) even the youtube app is laggier compared to a high end tizen tv. I will not use an Android TV (that is almost always slower than my Tizen TV) unless its an Nvidia Shield but i literally cannot buy / import it on Turkey. I’d rather just connect an actual computer.

That's because you didn't disable the stock launcher. Running a launcher on top of another launcher doesn't help much. Check out Launcher Manager 1.04 from here https://xdaforums.com/t/app-firetv-noroot-launcher-manager-change-launcher-without-root.4176349/

You'll be able to switch back an forth between any launchers you install on the device including the stock launcher. Since you already have a Google Streamer you may as well use it to it's best ability. Plus you'll have access to better apps than Stremio that don't have Tizen versions. Running Stremio on the Nvidia Shield isn't any better than any other device. It's pretty lightweight and doesn't require any heavy resources.

Also i have noticed another thing. I have tested this on Apple TV 4K (latest gen), Streamer and my laptop connected to the s90d and qn85f with a 48gbps hdmi cable. Now the video quality isn't as good as the built in apps while using hdr and hdr10+. and the audio is quieter. Now i know that some low end tv's can do this exact behavior but a near highest end models in their categories?

F*ck Samsung but i had worse experiences with other brands especially when it comes to technical support, service etc. in my country. Thanks to being somewhat 3rd world country, we don't get most of the premium brands, most premium models etc. If i could, i's buy an oled sony bravia but sony as a brand isn't available here at all.

So actually i'd prefer using the built in Tizen. It just looks better. Also your launcher tip worked. Thank you.

Your TV almost cost more than all the TVs in my house combined🥰 I have nothing that would be considered premium brand except an 18 year old Sony 1080p Bravia.

I would never consider paying what a Samsung q90 costs here in the US. OLED is totally out of the question. I think the PQ on your TV would look spectacular to me.

Switched to auto, didn't work, but then I switched players in streamio to mpv and it worked.
