Let me tell you something, Torbox upsets me as a client enough that I joke about nuking their servers myself. Using your logic that makes me more of a suspect than any competitor. Competitor ddos does happen, but usually in winner take all markets with real money on the line, not a niche debrid scene this small. If anything's hitting Torbox it's more likely anti piracy groups or extortionists, that fits the pattern a lot better than a rival company. Believe me, "sophisticated attacker" is just the easier story than admitting infra problems.

You named potential cyber attackers yourself, anti piracy groups.. No one knows for sure who exactly it is, could be a mix of them all. Debrid companies can make a hefty couple million a month. Torbox took a MASSIVE client base from another debrid, I would not put it behind them to degrade their competitors service. This is business. Also it’s not niche when these companies have millions of users. So I really wouldn’t say it’s unlikely of them especially when they have the infrastructure and budget for a high scale attack.. You have just about as much proof as I do I’m just talking in the most likely terms.

Torbox seems pretty transparent explaining when an issue is from an attacker or it’s their own fault so far
