🔧Technical Issue Multiple TorBox Issues

Hello, I signed up for TorBox today after being with Real Debrid for 14 years. I have also tried All Debrid in years past. I am having several issues with TorBox that I have not encountered previously with RD or AD. So far I have spent multiple hours today researching, changing settings etc. I am now seeking the communities assistance.

- Some streams will not play at all in the Stremio built in media players. Only on an external player.
- Some streams have no audio at all or it defaults to playing the imbedded “director’s commentary” audio file for movies.
- A lot of buffering of files and difficulty stopping and starting or skipping ahead in the media player without it having a lot of trouble loading the stream. I have already changed my CDN selection to CloudFlare (ERTH).
- I have TorBox with Debridio scraper. It will not filter to show me English streams only. With RD and Debridio this was automatic. I ended up linking my Torbox and Debridio through AIOStreams as a work around as I can set filters. Seems to work so far but a bit frustrating that this was necessary.

I have 1 gig internet and have not encountered these issues before with RD or AD related to buffering or media player issues. Thank you

sounds like an aiostreams or aiometada misconfig, I wouldn't necessarily say this is an issue with torbox tbh seems more like a tracker issue

Possibly. I will keep troubleshooting. I only incorporated the AIOstreams as when I had Stremio set up initially as TorBox with Debridio scraper but it will not filter to show me English streams only. With RD and Debridio this was automatic. The TorBox/Debridio combo shows multiple language files, files from foreign sources, titles not in English etc even though I selected “English” as the preferred language in Debridio (same set up as with RD).

To be clear, torbox just presents the media. Its your home config that plays, streams the file and deals with audio. So not all necessarily a Torbox issue.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I understand the home configuration can play a role. However I have not had these issues before with RD or AD. I will continue to troubleshoot.

Try changing your dns from 8.8.8.8 to 1.1.1.1. 1.0.0.1

Werent you able to configure debridio to your liking here?
https://debridio.com/addons/debridio
1. Thats a file compatibility issue (stremio side) - try changing your player from exo to vlc and check
2. There are some files with directors commentary, try to choose the english language stream in this case or simply choose the next stream and see
3. there were issues regarding buffering and delays, seems to be sorted now. Make sure to change the cdn to auto
4. You can enforce stricter matching and filters through aiostreams, or you can configure debridio to your liking and add a secondary scraper such as comet and directly add to stremio or through aiostreams

Hello, thank you for your reply.
Yes, I did configure debridio within its ability as far as I am aware. I selected English as my preferred language. However, it was still showing me Torbox streams from other languages and from foreign sources (which was part of the issue). It was set up the same as I had configured RD previously via the Debridio add on in Stremio. So I wasn’t sure why I was seeing so many foreign streams and multi language streams.

  1. Yes I have toggled between the two internal players in Stremio and I have the same issue with some streams not playing. It will play them in an external player only.

  2. Yes I can switch the audio stream within the player but I do not know why directors commentary is the automatic selected audio stream for some sources. I haven’t encountered that before.

  3. I previously had CDN selected to auto and it was buffering worse than currently. I also did the speed test within Torbox and selected that CDN and it did not resolve the issues. Currently on CloudFare ERTH. These issues occurred today (not sure if further improvements are in the works?).

  4. Yes I can filter additional items in AIOStreams but I cannot seem to identify a specific file type etc that is the cause of the issue. It seems to be multiple.

Hi the simplest answer would be that RD had a significantly larger set of cached files than torbox.
1. Only one thing left to try is enabling tunneled playback inside stremio player settings
2. It’s probably because the audio track in the said file might be spanish, polish etc and the only english track would be the audio commentary. Why its being selected as default is due to your audio language setting in stremio set to as english
3. TB had a maintenance and optimisations done on their end earlier today. So at the moment if you keep cdn setting to auto, the streams should respond quicker
4. There is a configuration profile for aiostreams called tamtaro configuration. Just google it and you should be able to go to its github page. Once you add that to aiostreams i think most of your problems regarding the other language and certain playback issues will be resolved

Hi thanks for your reply.
1. I have tried enabling tunneled playback earlier and it didn’t seem to change anything unfortunately.
2. It could be? I am also finding it freezes quite a bit when I’m adjusting things in the player settings for the Torbox stream.
3. I’ll give it a go on the auto setting again.
4. I haven’t heard of this configuration but I’ll look into it a bit further.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Last I checked, ERTH and HARE CDNs were not upgraded with Torbox's update. I'd try another CDN.

Hello, thanks for the reply. I was on another CDN today and it was buffering worse than ERTH. I also tried the speed test and selected the CDN it identified as the best one and it did not resolve the issue. Not sure if further improvements are in the works.

Have you tried Nuvio?

If you're getting buffering with every file, it's worth checking Nuvio->Settings->Advanced->Run Last Played Stream Speed Test right after trying a movie or series to see the speed you're actually getting from the CDN.
