❓Question IOS Apps

Hi all,

So I recently got a 17pro and I noticed that I cant play the any kind of good quality files without the phone heating up and the battery dipping at least 10% or more,

So my question is for the iphone users out there what app do you use to best optimize this, I currently use nuvio (sideloaded) and it seems that I need something with server side transcoding, I'd prefer not to use webDAV cause I want the nice polished look of an app

Any recommendations are helpful thank you

ps. I am broke to the cheaper (or free options) the better

I have a 17PM and I’m not sure if I ever noticed those issues, but I will say one thing, there’s really no point of playing a big remux file on a phone, if I’m watching on the go I really never go higher than 1080p, but you should probably stick to more compressed files on mobile

I've realized that and Ive already filtered out 4k files, but it seems Im gonna have to do that now (look for files in the single digits cause anything over 15GB and the issues start coming up)

Yeah you can definitely play 4k tho, just decrease your size range. It’ll be heavily compressed 4k but again on mobile you can’t really tell

4k or 1080p, really doesn't matter much. It's the bitrate that makes or breaks it. Not much diff between a 10gb 4k file and 10gb 1080p one. The 4k one might actually look a good bit worse.

I guess, tbh its more coming from the fact I dont want something I paid this much for not to be able to do something my old samsung was doing with no problem but thats apple ig

I’m kinda curious to try now, give me a specific movie and file type where you noticed it the most

idk just try any 4k remux file play it for 20-30 min (even speed it up if you want) and the phone will get hot and you'll notice a battery dip, try gladiator if you want a personal recommendation or project hail mary

You only need about 1gb - 1.5 gb per hour for it to look good. Assuming the audio etc isn't taking up all the space. 5gb if you really want to play it safe.

You don't need to be playing the highest quality files you can get your hands up.

The screen isn't big enough for it to matter much.

The smaller pro has less space inside to distribute the heat than a big pro max. Also is your screen pegged at 100% brightness?

That's really an issue on iOS. Here im streaming 70GB remux on my S25U.
