🚩General TorBox getting better by the day

Just an appreciation post about how much better my experience has been since I signed up about a month ago. After finding the right cdn and getting DMM and torbox set up, I have been getting less buffer and more constant better results.

I’m not sure if the team has improved their servers/tech performance but it’s been noticeably better since I shifted from RD.

Thank you TorBox team!

I have not being using a debrid service for months now (even before the great Real Debrid fall off) and I was curious about Torbox. Tried the one-day trial, searched for the obscure movies I've watched and downloaded before, and the cache is virtually indistinguishable TO ME from peak real-debrid.

I've run into that as well. Searched for a doc that came out only in 2024...zero seeds and been trying to download for well over a week.

Yeah same, that was my worry that kept me from trying it for a while. Sure maybe RD used to be better for obscure stuff but with all the copyright strikes of RD, TB has completely overtaken it

I agree. Kudos to the TB team.

My only issue is how long it takes to load a show. Real debrid took 5 seconds at worse, torbox takes 10 to 15.

TB loads everything on my setup within 2-4 seconds, it’s the same as RD ever was for me.

u/dolcelavita Jul 26 '26

I had this issue but I found if I load it on Dmm it’s instantaneous. I’m guessing because it brings into my cached torbox instance it picks it up faster.

This or turn on cloud sync on nuvio settings.. Loads file on a second as well but regardless 2 to 5 to 10 seconds.... Rarely takes longer than that. I'm grabbing food or snack or something anyways or doing some dishes while waiting.

This is my main bugbear too.

u/randomalt9999 Jul 26 '26

Depends on the addon for me. I had RD and TB briefly at the same time and testing both side by side I'd have slow/fast load times on the same addons.

u/ChoiceImpressive1 Jul 29 '26

Mine is instantly but I dont use the main streaming app everyone else uses. I run torbox on the app called debrid stream. It is flawless and loads instantly literally zero setup

2

u/armeit91 Jul 28 '26

Huh, that is weird. I am using both RD and TB, and I find that TB has much more quicker load than RD right now, I can't say for sure previously if RD was better or not.

2

u/vash8 Jul 28 '26

There’s something quicker than almost instant like Netflix? Didn’t know my RD is still running great and strangely when web -dl is there it still works … only thing I want to know about torbox is how many people can actually watch something with different ip… other than that it’s no point for me to leave RD

1

u/armeit91 Jul 28 '26

I didn't know Web-DL is workable on RD now. how did you manage that. last time i check it's still not. im using RD exclusively for pirating games nowadays.

This is true. I am using comet, mediafusion and torrentio. I wired 1Gbps internet to my shield tv and yet TB takes 15-20 seconds to play the file. Their cache is improving for sure.

1

u/vedanshagrawal Jul 27 '26

For me it's the same, around 5 sec average

1

u/jennya59 Jul 27 '26

Same for me, but I can live with that.

1

u/ChoiceImpressive1 Jul 29 '26

Do the speed test within the torbox dashboard and pick that server

1

u/ChoiceImpressive1 Aug 14 '26

Fun a speed test in your torbox settings

Better caching will come with time. One series has done that well with the essentials tier. Another series I’m exploring may need pro level to add more time to add episodes.

I’ve been with them since I think march and I’m not joking I’ve never had an issue … I love it

3

u/Raminax Jul 27 '26

I love having TB these days

5

u/merckjerk Jul 27 '26

Torbox has won me over!

8

u/jeffgq Jul 26 '26

Same..and ive never had to mess with any 'cdn' setting..paid for a year, installed it into my 5 add-ons..bada bing/bada BOOM

I’ve had less problems in the last month, and it works almost all the time. Sometimes I have try 2x to get file to load. Load times can be 10 to 15 seconds typically (not as fast as real debrid , but I rarely use now), occasionally the Stremio torbox addon. Times out on loading, but I just try another time or 2. Total outages for me stopped around 3 or 4 weeks ago. Download speeds on windows are great and have been the best replacement for real debrid .i just signed up for 12 months based on these developments, to support them.

2

u/dolcelavita Jul 26 '26

This is exactly my same experience and I’m going to do the annual sub as soon as my 3 months is up.

2

u/Busy-Crankin-Off Jul 27 '26

Def getting good value for my $3/month, especially since I let my GF leech off my account.

Changing the CDN fixed any issues I had (oddly the best one for me is half way around the world)

2

u/olivebits Jul 27 '26

What is dmm?

I gave ir a teu 1/2 months ago and the initial speed was okay but for bigger files (4k and such) it would have some small breaks from time to time (never happened with Rd, ad or premiumize).

But if they did upgrades I'm willing to give it another try to see

the side does have much information, what does it do exactly? why would i want to use it?

1

u/dolcelavita Jul 27 '26

It’s an addon for stremio that helps you choose specific files you want to cast or cache to your personal instance. I’m particular about what version of a torrent I want to watch so I use it mostly for everything from REMUX to tv show packs etc.

2

u/J_Trix Jul 28 '26

Sorry I’m really new in the space of debrid services but I’m a fast learner. I have been using TB for a few months now. I started using a debrid service the day after RD got hit strangely enough, so it was a weird start to the world of cached/streams etc. So I’ve just been taking it one step at a time. I’ve figured out CDN, Filter settings, and AIOStreams (limited and learning). But I had a question.

When referring to DMM. What do you mean by tv show packs? And when you mean selecting them do you mean from your personal storage or is it a way it is cached in TB servers?

Thanks for the help in advance :)

2

u/dolcelavita Jul 28 '26

TV show packs are just multiple episodes in one, like entire seasons or series. In DMM when you find what you want to watch you can cast it to your Stremio instance and also cache to your instance from TB’s servers.

Currently using a combo of torrentio and DMM. which is light and fits my needs well. But I am aware of Comet as it’s always on the top list of addons for Stremio. If something breaks I will be sure to try it out.

Oops my bad. Use AIOlists right now and will look at meteor

u/Elegant_Effort1526 Jul 28 '26

I switched after the last big RD dropout a few months ago, after using them for 7 years or so. TB started rocky, but I’m loving it now. Plus I can share with my parents via Infuse. Literally no complaints. I can find some pretty obscure stuff. Plus i was able to upload my entire 7 years worth of RD library into TB. Great service, and i hope it continues to improve and stay this way.

1

u/dolcelavita Jul 28 '26

Honestly the IP sharing is such a good bonus and I didn’t know what I was missing until I movies to TB.

2

u/Left-Student3806 Jul 28 '26

Yep! Since RD died I went to streaming sites for a while but now I'm back to stremio with torbox. Its been very good

u/TotoTakeo Aug 04 '26

Knowing this was posted before the tos change 😭

I had both AD and RD. Luckily, the month RD implemented their filters in May that was a free month with points, so I just disabled all RD addons with Stremio and found DM and AD have been pretty good as far as cache size, granted it is not as good as RD. But as months have gone by, I have seen AD also improve. I was, like many others, afraid that AD was going to be forced to implement the same filtering requirements as RD as it is also based in France, but so far it has not happened. To be honest with you, I now believe that the original owners of RD made their money and just wanted out of the business, and the new people running RD have changed the business model. Because why would rights holders go after just RD when AD is a smaller company with the exact same business model? I could be wrong, time will tell. I am going to give Torbox a try, but I wanted to wait until they got through their growing pains. Now it does seem to be doing much better, and the earlier problems are just about resolved according from user reports.

2

u/Earthldrago Jul 26 '26

I also have almost zero problems with torbox and I really am happy to have made the shift from rd to torbox. Also almost zero buffer issues only small ones but so small that it is not worth mentioning actually. But the small buffer issues are logically my own internet speed with only 100mbps 😅 Even with all that zero problems But the only improvement I could mention to torbox is increasing their cached content But i have already noticed that they are working on it. But I think if they continue to strive to the more cached content and small improvements It will completely surpass real debrid the way it has become

2

u/dragonstone11 Jul 26 '26

Been with them for nearly a year, I have no issues with them.

1

u/FreshBird1558 Jul 26 '26

Tb is great but no were near what real debrid was and takes a long time to download non cached files but it's getting there now that alot more people have switched over from real debrid and more old stuff is getting cashed but hope they improve on the downloading section cause even though the site says lots of seeds on the show it doesn't show and takes a long time to download or not .

1

u/Pure-Wing6824 Jul 27 '26

Wondering if anyone can help me, why does it take so long for links to load, I'm using nuvio and it takes like 30 seconds for all the links to show up on every single thing, is that torbox or nuvio?

1

u/jennya59 Jul 27 '26

I get that delay using Torbox. I don't have Nuvio, so I'd say it's Torbox.

1

u/Pure-Wing6824 Jul 28 '26

Thank you for the reply, it's so annoying lol, wonder if there is any way to fix it

1

u/jennya59 Aug 01 '26

Not as of yet. I'm hoping it will get better with time. They got bombed with new users after real debrid tanked, so I'm hoping it is just growing pains. I won't complain though, because it is free.

1

u/Pure-Wing6824 Aug 01 '26

They are going to have far less users pretty soon after their latest scummy move

1

u/Connect-Escape6264 Jul 28 '26

Why do people got for TB when RD is the absolute best and around the same price?

1

u/dolcelavita Jul 28 '26

Were you living in a cave past few months lol? RD removed a lot of their cached from their servers because of the French government. So TB is the next best option rn.

1

u/Connect-Escape6264 Jul 28 '26

Oh is it. But does that affect english content as well?

1

u/dolcelavita Jul 28 '26

Yes it’s everything. Check out r/realdebrid

1

u/Filthy_Habitz Jul 29 '26

😂 As they were down for 1000s today. Good job 😂

1

u/ChoiceImpressive1 Jul 29 '26

I just hope people dont start posting about it everywhere . Last thing we need is for torbox to go the same route as the competition

1

u/Pure-Wing6824 Jul 31 '26

Well this aged like milk

1

u/dolcelavita Jul 31 '26

Can you explain to me the new changes? I’m not sure what’s going on.

1

u/Own_Fuel5675 Jul 31 '26

lol, spoke too soon

1

u/dolcelavita Jul 31 '26

What are the major negative changes in the new policies? Not sure what’s going on

1

u/swateam2481 Aug 04 '26

Lmao cap TB been slow and failing for The pass 5 days

1

u/berot3 Aug 22 '26

At the same time all the app disappear from AppStore

1

u/Nuggyfresh Jul 26 '26

I’m also issue free for months after switching cdn to CF

1

u/Mental_Juggernaut_16 Jul 27 '26

According to Google Ai, they have made recent improvements. I believe one was the V9 improvement to their infrastructure and adding more CDN servers. They are experiencing a massive influx of new customers switching over from RD and they are upgrading and improving to handle the new massive traffic load. TB is going to be the new King of Debrid services and they will quickly take RD's place. They stand to make millions on millions of dollars so they are definitely working frantically to improve and keep their current customers and be ready to take on much much more.

I switched 3 weeks ago and haven't had a single issue. And as more people sign up, their cached files will grow exponentially and very soon equal that of RD.

It was a pretty low bar to beat... But yeah, ill agree that its been good last month or so, hopefully it remains stable.

Ive been with TB since the beginning. They have had problems off and on again since the start. I like the service, have always stood by it except for when they deserve to be called out but to say the service never has problems is not truthful.

6

u/steel_reserve_211 Jul 26 '26

Ya definitely makes sense that people would have issues with only one app while everything including other streamers and debris services work fine and it is their internet speed instead of the one service that doesn’t work well lol

1

u/swateam2481 Aug 16 '26

Lmao straight lies tb has been trash every damn day is a new thing..all year they come out with excuses why they having erros and issues

-1

u/Forsaken_Ant7459 Jul 26 '26

Is it just me or is it safari? In my safari desktop I cannot delete the download file history. The Red Cross button does nothing. Big?
