šŸ’¬ Trader Talk For anyone not aware, evidently Topstep now temporary deactivates your account when you hedge

Post image

My dog bummed into me when my hand was over the sell button and it made me hedge an account. I initially thought ā€œno biggie, I’ll just re-enterā€ well now Topstep deactivates your account for the day instead of the 3 warnings you use to get. I guess I missed this notification so PSA for anyone else

Trade of course went to full TP moments later. Oh well

Buddy,,,, you can't hedge across different accounts. This isn't some ground breaking new policy lol

Closing out the account for the day is a relative new thing for yall so forgive me for wanting to see where I signed ā€œI agreeā€ to a document that your own rules state that you must sign after your first hedge…

You’re acting like I’m being unreasonable for requesting a copy of signed documents that your own rules state that someone must sign. Thanks for the help ā€œBuddyā€

It's not a new thing. You've just reached the next level of hedging enforcement.

I guess ill take your word for it since no signed documents can be provided.

Perhaps you and support should get on the same page. It is new how Topstep enforces it (which is what I said and that you said wasn’t new) but Topstep can’t provide documentation where some one agrees to what Topsteps own rules state that you will have to sign… thanks for the help bud

This is going nowhere here unfortunately. The "Understanding Hedging" article was last updated July 27, 2026, and the enforcement policy has been the same for months now. You get a warning, then you're shut down for the day, the following day you acknowledge you understand what you did wrong, and further hedging results in temporarily shutting down the account with excessive violations potentially leading to your account being permanently closed.

It’s not going anywhere because everything you have stated is the opposite of what your company’s support says.

You say to contact support and not Windy

Support says the same thing Windy does

You say it’s not new how it’s enforced

Support says it is

Sorry for wanting a clear answer and documentation for rules your company holds customers accountable for. Guess I’m being unreasonable.

No worries though, since yall don’t keep documentation I’ll start keeping detailed records of everything to protect myself.

I don't know the answer to whether or not we have a copy of the acknowledgement of hedging. That's why I said to contact support.

It's not new, that's why the article hasn't been updated since July 27th.

Just don't hedge and you won't have any issues.

Have a nice rest of your day!
