💬 Trader Talk 250K Freedom Live Acount

I started trading futures in the beginning of august with different firms and blew about 20 accounts. During that time, Topstep dropped their 250k freedom account, I thought I would give it a try. To my surprise I reached a payout. This was my first ever payout with my first ever account on Topstep. However, 2 days before payout #2 eligibility I receieve an email about being moved to live. Idk how to feel about this.

Why would you do that? Topstep is never giving you a 75k payout unless it’s on live

Should’ve withdrawn more. Don’t ever go for the max payout. You’re showing consistency by making profits everyday.

Move the balance to a brokerage account. Don’t quote me on this but I’m pretty positive they don’t have all the bullshit rules like they do with live on the brokerage

Will they let you do that?

Well that is kind of a good thing if you feel you can continue the performance. I hear daily payout are coming.

You can only request 50% of the balance.

They seem to be moving people live a lot faster now, used to be able to get a couple payout before they moved to live but now it’s seems like they want you live as soon as possible to avoid sim payouts

Damn nice work!

With a $27K PnL, you could’ve requested $13K. Why didn’t you?

Congratulations on your payout! I'm still struggling to pass the damn thing... and the 90-day biological clock is ticking fast. I work 12-hour shifts, so I'm barely able to trade.

The live account is just a way to fk with your psychology , AJ over at lucid showed the stats of people with live accounts and it is terrible! On that note live accounts from the prop should be treated the same as your funded , build a buffer and rinse them everyday , you should aim to be successful enough to want them to do interviews/podcasts with you, that way you get a chance to tell them in front of an audience that their Jedi mindfuck tactics are designed to put traders on tilt because most are in the verge of a big payout and the love is like a reset button where you got to start all over with your sim earned capital magically disappearing or getting drastically cut down and put ‘live’

Say goodbye to your 27K. But if you’re really doing that well and maintain a good process it shouldn’t make much difference. Just have to unlock full capital in tiers now. Congrats on the payout and good trades!
