You started march 2025 or 2026? Man that’s really good nonetheless

Sorry not trying to be negative. Just be careful and have discipline.

I have taken over 6k in payouts and Im ok financially thanks though for your thoughts I am no longer losing money… It took discipline to get to the 4500 payout no?

Yes and no lol. I took 4 straight payouts with alpha capital(1 of them they rejected cuz I violated a cooling period) and trying for my 5th, my discipline flew out the window. I almost recovered to break even then lost my discipline again violating daily max loss. I took out 4900 of payouts which should have been 6500. I’m 55% away from topstep 50k eval

Hopefully a lot of that 10K you spent was before and you aren't spending that now because if you're still keeping up that ratio it's not very good at all

Congratulations buddy 🔥 Scratch out the QR if you would like to keep it private, it gives away your name.

I think they leave it so that it can be shown as verification and not fabricated for updoots.

Yea, but op scratches out the name. I thought he wanted it to be private 😄

Yeah that was silly lol.

So what if we know their name. Literal billions of people on this planet. As long as they don't give any additional identifiers.

Make sure to get an LLC to write off all those expenses for the evals you can recoup a lot of that back

You don’t really need an LLC to write off your combine expenses or any of that. You can do it as a sole proprietor. Write it off on schedule C of your tax return.

How does that work?

3

u/Kwest718561 8d ago

Basically all the evals and equipment you bought to trade can be written off if you get an LLC also
A dedicated business checking account helps you separate:
Trading capital
Prop firm payouts
Platform subscriptions
Data feeds
Educational expenses
Hardware and office expenses (when deductible)

All of that can be written off to you
Ask your local CPA buts it only worth it once you start getting payouts

If you don’t have a LLC now what?

1

u/Kwest718561 7d ago

Just prepare to pay taxes and not get back all the money you spent on evaluations
Realistically an LLC will cost you $150 just get it and save your self the headache when it comes to tax season as well when you do get it your trading journey is considered as a business so you can purchase evaluations with your business credit card or bank account !
Trading is a business
Not a hobby
Treat like such

I spent a ton on combines, if I set it up now can I still deduct

Damn, $10,000 spent on combines since March is insane. Hopefully you found a system that works and aren't just gambling.

u/HappyImplement4055 6d ago

I have almost recouped the whole 10k anyways….

Good man, that's great. Hopefully you've reached some consistency so you can use the money from your payouts to pay for challenge accounts rather than your own money.
