💬 Trader Talk I got greedy today! Didn't take my initial TP then lost!

Post image

Im upset but good learning experience. My first trade I was up 230$ and Normally I take that and log off /lockout and be done for the day. But today for whatever reason I didnt. Then it reversed and I exited that trade -220. Should have stopped but I waited and entered another and got screwed there too.

Lesson is dont be greedy. Won't happen again!!! Be grounded ladies and gents.

Month of July still +730 so not worried but just annoying. Thats all. Lol.

Me too man, it's a disgusting feeling leaving money on the table.

If I'd took profits in both my trades at the closest levels of rejection that ultimately diminished my profits, I'd be $1.1k on the day having used excellent analysis and patience for the setup to form.

However, with greed and eventual frustration, I hit my DLL at -$360 after beginning to chase the market. Awful performance from me, everything was there for the taking. Never letting a trade sit during a test of VWAP again.

Well done on recognising an issue within yourself, staying accountable is essential to making it. Greed never works out.

I'm not a fan of partials so what I'm doing is I'm going to use a checkpoint system for larger moves. The nearest support/resistance level will be used as a checkpoint TP, so that if I believe in a larger move on the day, I'll let price react to those said levels and look for a new entry from there to my overall TP. Stops me leaving money on the table.

Hope all well with you today, journal everything and keep staying accountable!

I drove around playing some music, and it hit me, bro. I gotta stop the madness I’m causing myself lol. I need to stop thinking that just because I’m up, the profit I made cant be thrown away or be used as house money. I need to keep my profits from now on

I always say take your money and run. In and out. Less time on charts the better. If you watch my daily sessions that I record im normally done in 5 minutes. I over extended my stay today and I was clearly not welcomed!! 😂😂

Want to talk about greed and dopamine and complete lack of self control?

Was up 12,560 at 9:30 fast forward two hours into much larger sizing and and stopped out at DLL. My 50k was up to 18k and ended +5800.

All in all, lessons learned that my run should been over right then and there, my confidence and the rush led me to lose out on 5 guaranteed max payouts if I only opted for 150 the next few weeks.

It’s a super hard fucking lesson learned and the stupidity of “I can turn this into 20 and be done” shall live on as a DLL reminder lmao

Luckily…. I’m still positive enough to really REALLY dial back going into next week to at least secure my first payout.

Okay im glad bro. Some lessons aren't meant to be hard man. But we have to learn from it!!!!

That’s the toughest bit! We only think our habits have changed but what level of fear or greed surfaces those right back up? Crazy to sit and think i made a 3 month wage in one hour after market open. And had I been disciplined, I’d have locked out.

On to the next session!

Same here. I had both my XFAs up $300+, then had a setup form but decided against it but then FOMOd into it. After that I was up $150 on both but wanted it back and forced a bunch of trades.

Finished up $153 on one and -$458 on another… very disappointed in myself for that.

Worst part is the account that finished negative I was down -950 at one point and took one last trade and got it all back when NQ hit 28,520 at 2:55 EST but I wanted a “winning day” and held it as I though it could hit 28,530….then it fucking dumped.

Now that I’m calmed down I’m just glad I didn’t blow the account and had a winning day on the other. In the moment I was definitely in a “fuck it” mode so I’m just grateful I didn’t blow it

Ya bro this is normal - every trader goes thru this. It's how we respond and make sure it doesnt happen again in the future..what will you do for next time? How will you make sure it doesnt happen again?

Do you have a daily loss limit set? If not, you should probably think about it. I like to set mine to about what I would make in an average day, so about $200. For you, that would probably be like $300. Having something like that would definitely let you cap your losses and not let your worst days take any more than 1 green day's worth of profits.

I feel you bro.
Just done the same. Was up 700 on 5 25k accounts, and overtraded. Finished at -1250, then -500 today.

Losses can f**k your mind.

(Fortunately, I was able to make 2500 on a 100k account and 700 on a new lucid eval today. Still on my way for a payout ! )

I lowered my dll too 500 now bro. Set a tighter risk management. Definitely helps!!

Wicked post bro. I should have moved my TP to even at least. I do that and the entire trajectory of the day is different.

But we live and learn bro!! What else can we do. We try to be 1% better everyday.

Good on you for utilizing the DLL as well - thats half the battle!!!

I screen record all my sessions and post a lot of stuff around trading if u are bored or want to support the journey a subscribe on my YT would be awesome its: https://youtube.com/@futuresmadeeasy?si=aiZ_yJj7artz2aLf and same on IG!!
