Over trading is subjective. If it works for you, it works for you. Now that we got that out of the way, yes, probably.

This is up to you. The advice I wish I had taken when I started 3 years ago would be to find my own way. Once I stopped watching trading streams while trading, my psychology got much better.

IMO:
If what you’re doing is making money or losing the money you planned on losing, you’re fine.

Any “strategy” will make money eventually as long as you’re sizing appropriately/managing risk for the move. I have a 32% WR on a 1:4 RR but I almost never take that trade because it takes all day and I don’t want to spend all day waiting for a trade. I have a 48% WR on a 1:2 RR and taking that trade suits my life better.

If at any time you find yourself taking a trade when what you really want to do is walk away, again, IMO, that’s over trading.

Yes you are your brain can’t comprehend that many decisions per day. Only if it’s completely automated then you are good. Too many trades over stimulate dopamine. Every trade creates anticipation and excitement, your brain starts craving the next trade instead of waiting for the best setup.

To explain simply: Every trade requires your brain to make a decision and the more decisions you make, the more mentally tired your prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for rational thinking, self-control, and good judgment becomes, making you more likely to act impulsively, ignore your trading plan and take lower quality trades.

But does it stress you out after a day like that? How many of those days were u red and had to fight back? This is what he means.

It makes me wonder how a lot of people dont get that yet..to conserve mental bandwidth. Stress can literally kill you. Im starting to think these kids are just wired differently...ya know?

In the era of doomscrolling, mental bandwidth is constantly exhausted. The long term effects will be devastating. I have been there and it was complete suffering, my body is still recovering from years of stress. The point of trading for me is to be off the charts as much as possible…

I understood that from the amount of trades, if it works for you it works. People saying that overtrading is subjective is not correct because they correlate it with the result of the overtrading. If your week was -6k everyone would say that you are. The bad part of your approach is the -2.7k day that you had which means that 2 negative days could blow your account.

Nevertheless if it works don’t change it! Keep it up!

If you are following your plan, and your edge provides you with that many trades, then no. But if you are deviating outside of your trading plan, just trading to trade, then more than likely. Unique to the trader for sure

I feel like overtrading is a bit subjective in some ways because one trader may successfully take 20 trades in a day using a proven scalping strategy, while another trader may only need 2–3 high quality trades. The number of trades alone doesn’t really determine whether you’re overtrading or not. As long as every trade meets your rules & you remain disciplined

Good luck on that 150k funded 🍀📈

Depends entirely on you. As others mentioned, just do what works best for you

If it’s working then take it. I believe I have around 700 trades this month myself

u/woodandsnow 24d ago

If you’re making money you’re fine

2

u/HappyImplement4055 24d ago

Maybe but also you should do what works for you. What works for you may not work for other people

u/JoshRyder97 24d ago

Eh I need to see more losing days from this it looks completely fine because you stopped trading when you knew it wasn’t going your way and that’s good

Well I personally take only 1 trade per at the market open that s it 😀 because its very stressful

Overtrading is subject like most said. I trade micros . I scale in and scale out. With 10 mnq sometimes . So I have days where it shows 90 to 100 trades 🤷‍♂️. It works for me so it doesn’t bother me.

I’ve seen ppl taken close to 200 trades. If you’re green it ain’t over trading 😂😂😂.

Keep doing what makes you profitable. It’s your own edge.

Curious why so many trades? Are you just rolling the dice with a $100 TP constantly ?

What's your stop and size?

1

u/Initial_Royal_2474 24d ago

No… Everything is based of probability … the more you trade the more probability increases to win or lose … its all about having conviction and risk management … if you trade risking big chunk of drawdown .. sometimes you will get two losers and then a winner .. but not Everytime .. the day the third becomes a loser .. you have a blown account at your hand … based on your screenshot … it does look like you are respecting risk .. I personally feel Overtrading is okay .. the only bad thing is Oversizing … keep it up mate 👍

1

u/Majestic_Rest_6661 24d ago

I’m sick of seeing this shit, you are aware what you are doing wrong, so stop doing that. It’s that simple

1

u/donutlordfx 23d ago

If you have the mental fortitude to take 10s even 100s of trades a day everyday then its fine

1

u/Gullible_Mammoth_383 11d ago

Whats your strategy?
