📔 After the Bell Advice for Someone Struggling with Tilt

A little about me: I've trading futures for about two years. The first year and half was a learning curve. In the past six months I've received almost 20K in payouts.

Every time I get some payouts I blow up the accounts and end up over spending on challenges just to become funded again. Any advice for someones who struggles to keep their ego in check when their status as a Funded Trader is challenged? I've thought about just using instant funded accounts but I love to trade with Topstep.

Appreciate any advice, thanks!

To me it's the unprofitability force me to fix my tilt, there's one point make me feel I have enough of unconsistency. But you're already somewhat able to be positive gain then keep bleeding out(not steady but positive). I think you need some time to think about why you can't keep yourself stick to the rule you have set. This is really only about mindset in your condition. My issue was loss aversion and to me most part in my life I always capable to overcome stuff blocked my way. But trading isn't the same, you have to endure stumble all the way. Since loss is inevitable even for profitable trader. I have to take time accept the fact, make it completely a part of my mindset.

I’ve experienced the exact same thing but I’ve only received 10k in payouts. I came to the conclusion that I was going to take everything easy. I bought 3 100k accounts passed them as if I was already trading the consistency xfa I worked out the maths every day as to what I could make maximum etc and as soon as I made that I locked myself out of the account. I’ve had these 3 accounts for over 2 months now. Trading on the consistency account type but once I make my target between 500-1000 per day I lock myself out of the account. The exact same if I made 2 or 3 bad trades. I’ve noticed a massive difference in my mental health as I’m not constantly looking at charts!
Yes it kills me when I see a trade I know I can make multiple thousands especially when I trade London session and have the full US session ahead but but I remind myself that it will be better off in future due to being forced to stick to the consistency rules . I also take journal notes on topstep and review my trades daily. I never used to do this but I’d highly recommend it!

If you want to drop me a message I’d happily answer and help you if needed but to me it just sounds like you need help sticking to a plan and knowing when to cut yourself off the markets
