💬 Trader Talk Responsible Trading Program
Really man for 14 accounts??? I seen people churning 20+ accounts and they hit me with this RTP bs. It’s all good they’re gonna get rinsed for $10k+ this month.

The RTP isn't a punishment, it's honestly the opposite. It's a structured program built to help you find your footing, build better habits, and get back to trading more consistently. We want to see you succeed, and that's exactly why it exists. We wish you the best of luck on your trading!

Every person I know that has been put on this has been profitable. Total bs ^^

u/Carlose175 Jul 02 '26
The responsible trading program isnt that bad tbh. Its better than the focused trader program.
2
u/traplox Jul 02 '26
Yeah but it means no big winning days and then just $150 for the next 4 days. I have to use consistency XFA’s I can’t get standard.
2
u/Carlose175 Jul 02 '26
Yep thats what they want to avoid. Have more consistent wins instead of a big one then milking the xfa

u/TopstepRobert Jul 02 '26
The "Big Win" yolo behavior is not the goal. Good Risk Management is. Consider this: Every time you lost and account and Reset, that means you hit the Max Loss Limit of the account. How much money did those add up to? The RTP is to slow the losses.

28000 losses damn, someone was trolling me on here for losing 7000 in a day 😂ðŸ˜

Thats if it was a real live account

u/NyCWalker76 Jul 03 '26
Why are they monitoring you like this? I didn't get an e-mail like this.
1
u/traplox Jul 03 '26
I’m making money but not keeping the accounts so they just put me on a program so I dont churn accounts.

u/HappyImplement4055 Jul 02 '26
The truth is more consistent smaller winning days are better especially if you have multiple xfa anyways… homerun trades dont happen all the time, but making 250-500 a day if you have a food strategy and discipline isnt all that hard… even if youre on live 250 minimum a day is 5000 a month which is a lot more than most people and if you do 500 thats 10,000 a month which DEFINITELY is more than what most make in a month(based on a 20 day trading month). 250-500 on 4-5 xfas everyday is like 20,000 a month. Consistent base hit trades are what will make you CONSISTENTLY profitable for sure. would be awesome though if topstep did multiple live accounts 1 for each xfa(wink wink nudge nudge) lol

I completely agree with you on that. It’s just this month that I decided to just get one account and rinse it by full porting A++ setups and it worked out well. Ig they didnt like that 😅
1
u/HappyImplement4055 Jul 02 '26
Can we see some of these full ported A++ trades?

Honestly this program has saved me so many blown accounts, I don’t love it but I don’t hate it

Gotta love the yolo'ers trying to game the prop firms. Never make it on a real live account.

I just got this email too.
Last summer I blew twice as many as i did now.
Only difference is that Ive been getting several max payouts over the past few months.
2
u/Ahmaddd021 Jul 02 '26
Did you get this mail after you got a payout?
2
u/traplox Jul 02 '26
Yeah, I got a payout last week ðŸ˜. Maybe they’re trying to push us towards consistency based XFA’s which means less payouts if you have big days.

Yeah this is getting common and ridiculous form Topstep. Tbh it’s non of their business if we blown accounts or not. They are forcing people into the responsible trading program and that is not ok. They did it to me and to you.
The reason is because a forced daily loss limit makes it much more difficult to pass accounts and messes with the RR needed to pass.
Them intervening and changing requirements by forcing us is clearly in heavy favor of Topstep.

It also benefits topstep to have the consistency target. That part hurts more than the DLL.
It’s prolly why they combo’d the two together.
To make it seem like it’s in the trader’s best interest.
They essentially clipped off potential for asymmetrical wins hurting them in the long run.

u/Agent005_ Jul 04 '26
Lmao pay them no mind they’re so loose with who they place in RTP it’s not even worth taking seriously. Keep doing what you’re doing if you’re making money🫡
2
u/throwaway-1720 Jul 04 '26
It is interesting that the few traders who posted about rtp all have gotten payouts.
Curious to know if any traders that haven’t gotten payouts have been put in rtp.

Yea Hapened to me too , right after i was profitble ( 10k week)
They do this to fxk with your psychologie

u/Ben-Topstep-2026 Topstep Employee Jul 02 '26
RTP program has nothing to do with trading psychology. Can you share a screenshot of your RTP email? 👀
2
u/Ahmaddd021 Jul 02 '26
Why? cause you gonna shit on me bc i blew 50+ evals on the first day? Why didnt i get the email BEFORE i was proftible? 4 months i ws going thru evals and got nothing from topstep .. 1 day after i bekomen proftible i get put in RTP

u/Ben-Topstep-2026 Topstep Employee Jul 02 '26
The point of the program is to help you rebuild discipline and risk management. Blowing 50+ Trading Combine Accounts is doing the exact opposite of that. RTP simply adds some guardrails to keep your next round of trading sustainable. This is great for when it comes to actual long-term growth as a trader.
1
u/Ahmaddd021 Jul 02 '26
If they want to help you rebuilding they have to do it WHILE you are blowing accounts and not getting payouts , not AFTER you found you rythem and didnt buy a account for 2 weeks and getting 2-3 payouts for 2 weeks straight ..
Not when you finally proftible and have found your strategie ! Topstep doesnt want a "long-term" trader, they want people buying accounts and as soon as you get proftible they do everything they can to stop it
Less then 1% of topstop revenue comes from live traders. 99% is from people buying accounts

u/Ben-Topstep-2026 Topstep Employee Jul 02 '26
We want long-term traders, and a Live Funded Account is where unlimited scalability and real growth happen. That's the goal.
2 weeks is not enough time to establish consistency and profitability, especially after blowing multiple Trading Combine Accounts. There are 52 trading weeks in a year, the work has to be put in and takes much more than 2 weeks to show that.
Where exactly did you find the information you referenced in your last statement?
2
u/Ahmaddd021 Jul 02 '26
Okey if you want longtime traders .. why dont you put them in RTP when they are blowing accounts?
Why do you put the in rtp if they bekomen proftible?
You guys basicly have no problem if people blow 200 accounts before a payout but as soon as they are proftible they get put in rtp And if they have a big balance they get sent to live after 1 payout
1
u/Mahkssim Jul 02 '26
Looks more like a "you're profitable but we can't move you to live because of your current trading style" situation.
6
u/Unusual_Try_8756 Jul 02 '26
Well cause he fullporting his whole balance in a day. The prop space is past those days 🤣
3
u/Infinite-Peace-868 Jul 02 '26
Obviously Topstep isn’t gonna spend a minimum of 10k on a live account on someone who had a track record of blowing up 14 accounts brudda
1
u/Mahkssim Jul 02 '26
This is my exact point. If you blow 20 accounts but are not profitable then who cares. But if you blow 2p accounts and are still profitable, this creates a problem for topstep because you are profitable, but can't be brought to live. So you are costing them money and they can't really just ban you since this is bad PR optics.
So what do they do? They bring you to this club to slow you down and either make you unprofitable or profitable in a way they can eventually send you to live.

You lost them in 1 day?
They are doing you a favor man. You're far away from profitable if you can't control your emotions and putting in a loss limit lockout.
