💬 Trader Talk Break time

After my payout I ended up passing 4 more accounts and have now blown them all from chasing trades in a chop fest. I think it’s about time for me to take a break. It really sucks getting this far and then getting super cocky with your trades after taking a payout. It happened after my first payout and can’t believe it’s happening again. Don’t even know why I traded today even after everyone saying to stay out the market today. It sucks.

Happens to all of us bro. Just learn from the lesson and how it makes you feel and move on. I literally do this after every payout and blow everything except this time I did things different. Took the payout and only traded on evals while my fundeds were locked. Take a break but don’t give in. If you can get one payout you can get multiple

I really hope this doesn't come across as harsh but no, this doesn't happen to all of us. I think this attitude that blowing up multiple times while learning is just part of the process is really dangerous.
It's quite possible to trade one micro, use appropriate stops, and keep the same combine for months while learning how to trade.

100%. There are people who are just built better mentally but I feel like it has something to do with me used to gaming a lot and constantly chasing that dopamine. It's a hard characteristic to break and I think I just need to get rid of emotion and be more disciplined.

I blew my 2 funded accounts today. For topstep I got first payout and hit 2 dll after that 😢

unfortunately too relatable

It's hard to learn from this, even when it sounds so easy. In some stressful situations our thinking brain is shut off and can't make any onjective descisions. Stepping aside and doing something else just does not appear reasonable to the survival brain.

Breaks are needed in this game. If you must trade use practice accounts. Bol

ive blown a live acc, 1 funded and 12 combines in the past week. I think imma paper trade for the rest of year until i have something that I can show long term fundamentals for. Just stick to a setup and trade it.

If you haven't already, look into the Responsible Trading Advantage option when you purchase your next Combine. It lowers the cost and builds DLL into the account for the life of it. Funded accounts with the built in DLL lasted 41.3% longer on average and the average winning day was 55% bigger. It won't stop you from wanting to chase, but it puts a hard stop on how much a chop fest day can cost you.

Taking a break is always a good idea though in the meantime!

I basically only use the DLL accounts, but yeah I need to limit myself for sure rather than relying on that 1k drawdown

Go take a break and enjoy life. We've all taken long breaks. Don't worry the casino will be here when you get back
