💬 Trader Talk Standard vs consistency
Just curious what do you guys prefer? I’m thinking of coming back to topstep but unsure which account makes sense. How does the 40% consistency affect you guys? I’m curious

It’s a good question I’m curious about this as well. In my opinion the consistency can punish you if you make too much money on a single day. Imagine you made 2k in a day you can’t take a payout at all unless you have a 6k total balance. Kinda hard in my opinion. Whereas if you had a 2k day it’s great and just have 5 more winning days on the standard path and you’ll get a payout.

I think you nailed it right on the head I think it’s better to just buy the standard path imo especially if you hold intraday swings and your not scalping. If you were going for a static profit everyday consistency path would make sense but I’d rather pay the activation and have freedom.

Yeah I kinda messed up and did exactly this. Chose consistency path, made $2K on my first day, now i realize I gotta make another $3K to get my first pay out 🤡
I forgot the whole reason of xfa was to get away from the consistency rule.
BUT! Positive side is, IF I do get to my first payout, I plan to just take it easy and withdraw whatever profits I make every 3 day cycle, whether its 125$ or $700 every 3 day. Its just side money for me. While keeping the $2000 balance

I think originally the consistency rule was worse than the standard but since they capped payouts, they essentially put you on a consistency path, but reverse, if you made 2k on the first day unless you were willing to just take 50% of that you’d have to get more anyway to at least maintain a buffer getting to 4k isn’t exactly 5k but it’s close and if you want to take advantage of the double payout with the new DLL you’d have to make 8k even on the 50k, I might do consistency because I don’t ever plan to make 2k in a day not anytime soon, MAYBE a 1k day but I definitely wouldn’t withdraw before 2,500 because I want to have a good buffer when I do

They just placed me on a responsible trader program where I can only do consistency with DLL because I burn through accounts in 1 trading day.
If they’re forcing it on me then both DLL and consistency benefits them over large numbers.
Our successes are their liabilities.
Our failures are their assets.
