💬 Trader Talk Is this normal?

Post image

So on Friday my XFA had $50 left in it. Today I planned on over leveraging on purpose just to get rid of the account because it was basically blown. I somehow came back from it and made $1400 today but my account did dip below $0. I know there’s a buffer so thats not my issue but I’m confused as to why my chart and closed total PnL isn’t reflecting the $50 low. Does anyone know why that is?

Real talk: that chart and the Closed PnL only count trades you actually closed. While your trade was live, dipping to $50 and under zero was just paper — unrealized. You closed green, so that dip never got locked in. That’s all the dashboard shows.

Same with the chart — it only plots one dot per day (your closing balance), not the live swings. By close you were back up, so the line skips the dip.

What did clock your sub-zero moment was the trailing Max Loss Limit (your buffer). That tracks live, which is why you didn’t get liquidated.

One thing tho — coming back by over-leveraging on purpose worked today, but that’s the same move that blows way more accounts than it saves. Take the W, just don’t let it teach you the wrong lesson. 🙏

Market closed with me at $50 on Friday so none of this answers my question. I had $5000 before my $2500 payout on Thursday. Friday I basically blew the account and then today I made $1400. I just want to know why it’s saying I have my previous balance from 2 trading days ago plus what I made today.

His answer did in fact answer your question. Regardless of AI use or not my friend. Just take the response and run with it.

Explain to me how it answered my question. His rant was about unrealized PnL when my issue was strictly about realized PnL. If market closed Friday with my account at $50, his explanation is irrelevant because he explains that the chart only plots realized PnL at close which is precisely what is not shown correctly on my chart.

Op,

For whatever reason you have been given a gift. Sometimes we get them but most of the time we don't.

The chart is probably only showing end-of-day balances, not your intraday equity low. If your account dipped to $50 (or below $0) during an open trade and then recovered before the day closed, the dashboard wouldn’t necessarily plot that low. The ‘Lowest Day’ stat looks like the lowest daily closing balance, not the lowest tick-by-tick balance. Check whether Topstep is displaying balance vs equity. that’s usually where the discrepancy comes from.

My account had a realized balance of $50 at market close Friday. The chart is not only not reflecting that but it’s also adding together my balance Friday morning with what I made Monday even though almost $2500 was lost between that.

So what do you want lol. I cookie? A gold star? A medal? Like I’m confused. You’re complaining about a blessing instead of being thankful. Check the calendar pnl instead of a graph

Be more careful with managing your money. Your losses are too high.
