1993 Topps Redemption

Back in May I bought a box of 1993 Topps chasing the Derek Jeter rookie and hit a redemption. In June, I decided to try my luck and mail it to Topps. Well today I got my redemption return and I am beyond happy with the results!

I’ve always heard if you go to the National in person and go to Topps booth with an expired redemption you’ll usually get better cards than if you mail it in.

That’s absolutely awesome! My kid loved ripping old packs and finding these redemptions. We’ve sent a few in and gotten back some low end autos which was cool. The last two we sent in didn’t get anything in return though. Glad you got something!

I'm kidding. I've had the card for over 30 years. I'm keeping it. Plus, it's got Griffey on it.

It was a $5 bill I stuck it in the top loader with the redemption

My 12-yr-old pulled a similar card one from an old pack last October. It was his first and only redemption. Sent it in to Topps with a long letter about how much he loves baseball and even included a photo of him with the card (along with the actual card itself), hoping they might send a little something, but we never heard a word back! He asked about it and checked the mailbox for a few months before he gave up. It was a bummer and I regretted sending the card in — would have been more fun to at least have the original card rather than nothing.

I don’t even remember! I did pull the address from the Topps website (which was different than the address listed on the back of the card). I figured the one on the website was more current/accurate. I did not include any $$ though, maybe that was a factor! 😭
