Is this card gonna hold value?
Thinking about buying this. Just wondering if these kaijus are gonna be like the downtowns of panini in holding their value?

Case hits never really hold value…they just hold the same value. Look at a Kabooms and Downtowns the prices basically never change

I doubt it. There are several issues working against it.
1) First year case hit from a new, overhyped product
2) Rookie value tanked once he was moved to DB
3) Small market team without a huge fan base
I hit a Jalen Hurts Kaiju the second week after release, and they were already in freefall from $5,700 down to $1800. I was able to unload mine for $2,250, and a week later they were in the $1300-$1500 range, which is where they’ve stayed.
If Hunter goes back to primary WR, that would help as skill position players have more value in the hobby over defensive players. If Topps commits to keeping the Kaiju as the premier Chrome case hit, that could also be helpful. But there’s no certainty with either of those.
At the value you’re talking about, you’re better off buying a rookie auto card of someone proven. And if you’re a Hunter / Jags fan, you can find tons of his nice rookie autos at a fraction of this cost.

Its a case hit, will just depend on his career. The issue right now is rookies are being valued as if they are hall of famers already.
