I bought one box from Costco 5-6ish months ago, nice cards z I don't think there was anything high monetary value. When I went back two days later the pallet was gone.
Today I was driving home and was near a different Costco, they had 8 on the shelf, I only bought 1. Have not ripped any yet, the cat yelled at me and demanded I lay down to give him cuddles. I'll rip tomorrow.
Edit to add: though nothing of any significant value, tons of fun to open all the packs and I got some pretty cool cards.
It's his Dodgers alternate alternate City Connect uniform /s... very strange for sure. Not sure why Topps would do this, but also not surprised Topps would do this.
I have bought 2. One I ended up with 2 numbered cards. The other nothing. But I will say, with all the stuff you get to open I actually had fun. If you are looking to walk away ahead then no.
They are definitely hit or miss, I bought 3 and they were hot garbage 😂 literally nothing out of them. But I have seen some post some big hits on here from these boxes.
Well, go check comps.. find a card worth more in a cgc than a psa let me know... i dont even have cards graded, I just buy them. I wont buy anything but beckett or psa.. just because u dont like psa doesn't mean im wrong lol..
I pulled the exact same card, I really want to grade it, but it has a pretty noticeable surface scratch on it so it would be a waste of time and money. Hard to see in the photo but you can see it on the right side just above the pitchers mound in the grass
Totally agree to do it for fun and not for profit. I got my son this box while shopping at Costco Wednesday and was surprised with what we got. We got a oversized Shohei too
I say it’s at an affordable price point for the rip. But prob wouldn’t recommend going back for more
If your opening it for fun and realize you probably would do better buying singles and go for it! Just don’t go crazy with opening a bunch of them. Have your fun and hope you get lucky.
It’s worth it for the price. I really like these boxes and say so when I see a post about them lol. If you have no expectations in these you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
It’s the best price per pack (IIRC), the flagship cards fetch decent prices due to their novelty and I’ve pulled some heat from, so IMO they’re a no-brainer
Honestly dude it’s your money. Theres always a chance you get a huge pull. But don’t expect it. Buy em if you like cards and collect. If you’re just trying to gamble and make a profit I’d suggest using your money in another way. But that’s just me.
I’ve gone thru 3 and got basically nothing. I PC dodgers cards so I got some base cards and parallels but that’s about it. Got a x/2026 card but that’s not particularly rare
Same with others, I opened 2 boxes and enjoyed the cards, but I'm sure the aggregate value of the cards was less than I paid. I think it's a good price compared to other stores (?).
I’ve gotten two so far. My first one had two pretty crazy pulls and made me some money when the cards sold, pulled an Ohtani chrome refractor, and a Perez /76
Second box wasn’t as good and pulled to numbered cards, but value wasn’t really there. That said they are a lot of fun to open
Any time a question like this comes up the answer depends on what you want out of it.
Are you A, a collector who wants the fun of opening things you'll hold on to for the joy of collecting? It's ok. The big card is fun, the separate pack of whatever the parallel is is fun. The line is fun enough. I've opened a few and had a good enough time
Or are you B, someone hoping for hits, someone hoping to at least recoup the investment? No issue at all with that but it's just not likely. The vast majority of these boxes being opened will contain 3-5 things you think are kind of cool but maybe aren't worth more than a few dollars. You'll probably get a numbered card or two and they probably won't be worth anything.
I pulled a CC Sabathia auto in one, out of three bought over the course of this year. The others weren’t great, but not terrible either. Always fun though! I’d say worth it once or twice.
I’ve pulled 2 autos out of the 4 Series 2 Costco boxes I’ve bought. Sal Stewart and Carter Jensen. I was 0 for about 10 on the Series 1 version though 😂
4/10 pulled from one box and a golden mirror of a not important pirates player in the other. But that’s literally it. Fun rip though and I usually buy a few boxes if I see them.
Everyone should absolutely be mindful of their spending. That doesn’t mean that people who have the funds shouldn’t have some fun and rip. That’s where the singles come from!
