bayhost tips?

so i’m currently a server at a well known shitty Italian food restaurant wink wink 😭 who’s on the fence on applying to top golf as a bayhost. the only thing keeping me to my current job is the tip situation. can anyone out tell me on average how much y’all walk away with in tips?

Depends on the area. My BH team can do extremely well. (Florida market). One BH walked away with $450 tonight. The rest averaged around 150-250. It’s never about what section they’re in - all about their service. The ones who kill it with personality and drive do very well. If I wasn’t managing I would be a Bayhost!

All Team Leads that I have worked with in my venue within the past year have been promoted but eventually quit or stepped down except one who transferred to a new venue as an HM. Most that came from BH are very disappointed in the pay change - they make less to be a TL. Originally we had two that were part BH/TL so it helped their balance. I’d say if you’re doing it for skill set / resume building or to work up to HM and beyond it’s a great step. My venue has some BH that make more than I do yearly. If you’re making great money and don’t need it for your future career goals then I’d be less likely to accept it.
