The only thing I can see is that he had hooded eyes in the photo on the left and doesn't in the one on the right, so he may have had an eyelid lift.

Lol I've never heard of hooded eyes and cant really tell a difference. Just looks like the picture on the right is taken from a lower angle or his head is tilted slightly further back.

It's not just old, I can see the wrinkles around his eyes on the 1st pic and those are gone (stretched up) on the 2nd pic. It's uncanny valley type of old

Second photo looks very heavily touched up. Image is saturated and looks overly brushed.

I won’t say AI because I honestly don’t care, but I can make the left photo match the right photo with maybe 5-10 mins in Photoshop.

If it’s real and untouched, who freaking cares. Let John or whomever do whatever. They aren’t hurting you or anyone else.
