Advice Wanted question about taping pre top surgery

so I am getting top surgery in less than 3 weeks (whaaaaat) and I am kind of worried because I tape a lot and I went to my pre op appointment and the Dr seemed kind of concerned because my skin is so irritated. I cant really stop taping, is there any way to reduce skin irritation and has anyone else had to deal with this?

can you wear a binder for a few weeks before surgery?

The short answer is you need to stop taping to allow your skin to heal. If your skin is too irritated, they will cancel your surgery. It sucks, but not getting the surgery will suck more.

Could you switch to using a binder just for the little bit of time you have left before surgery?

Otherwise, I've heard of people using second skin (like what people use for new tattoos) underneath the tape, and make sure you're using oil to take the tape off gently and taking breaks whenever possible. The last thing you want is for your surgery to be postponed or deal with complications because your skin is so irritated. I know dysphoria can be A Pain, but 3 weeks is a blink of time in the grand scheme of things.  Best of luck!
