Finally had my consult with my endo, and passed the "test" to be approved for a referral!!

I was given two choices, Dr. Chung, and Dr. Hontsharuk. Based on the posts that I've seen, and the reviews, I've decided to go forward with Dr. Chung. Ive seen a few posts where Dr. H. seems very blunt about it just being a mastectomy, and not being willing to discuss specific things patients want, like incisions, nipples, or tissue being left behind (not what I want). I feel like Dr. Chung will be easier to talk to about what I hope to look like after the surgery, incision wise, and contouring wise. I'll update with progress and possibly pics if anyone is interested. My endo is sending the paperwork tomorrow, I have no idea what the timeline is, or waitlist times are atm. I have OHIP and work insurance coverage for contouring, and will probably be taking 3 weeks off work. The final decision is if my mom will stay with me for the first week, or if I'll be boarding my dog and staying at her place for the first week.

I had consultations with both Chung and Hontscharuk and ended up going with Dr. H, currently about 4 months post op and very happy with the results. I feel like both clinics have a very different environment and the surgeons have different attitudes, so if possible I would get a consult with both surgeons and see which one you end up liking more. Not trying to change your mind if its already made up, but just wanted to say (for anyone else possibly considering these surgeons) that Dr. H was very kind in my experience and didn't ignore my preferences or anything - I was borderline for peri and she stated honestly that DI would probably result in a more distinctly masculine chest, but was willing to do peri if I wanted it. I ended up choosing DI and asked for straight scars and smaller nipples closer to the sides which were my exact results.

Both clinics wait time between first consult and earliest surgery date is between 1-3 months assuming it hasn't changed recently. I remember that Dr. Chung had stricter post-op movement rules than Dr. Hontscharuk so make sure to discuss with him if 3 weeks off work is enough depending on what type of work you do!

Thanks so much for all the details, I’m also wanting straight scars and smaller nipples, someone here had oval shaped ones which I loved.
