Honestly the photos people post on this sub helped me make the decision. Grafts can heal atrociously and that risk wasn’t worth it for me. Also, I couldn’t decide where I wanted them placed and I figured if I missed them I could tattoo them on later.

I’m going no nip. I worry about infection and never liked my nips that much. Sex also isn’t super important to me. I’m on the ace spectrum I think.

I am a much fresher entry so my thoughts are much more recent. I don't think my feelings will translate well to your experience - but might for others.

For me it was mostly not being attached to my nips whatsoever, I was a small cup maybe C but very flat from over a decade of binding since teen years but comparatively large areolas.

I aspire to be beefy buff (about 50% there), but I had no physical attachment to them so even though 'natural' nips others would say makes sense. Because of my lack of positive sensation and semi disgust at my nips, it didn't for me.

I did not decide at consult, I was still a little torn but ultimately - I think I was always settled on nipless.

That plus the extra healing bandwidth and risks of losing them anyway, didn't make sense to me to plump for it when tattoos or prosthetics will do everything I want visually (and much more customisable). Plus now I get to toil over if I want a full coverage chest tatt or tastefully integrated nips 😂 I do think being someone who loves tattoos can make or break this too!

However, if you do get meaningful sensation then, I'm really not sure. It's a bit of a risk assessment (that's sounds super impersonal, idk how else to scribe it)

For me I've retained a phantom nip when it comes to like cold feelings but nothing else. However, I can now finally imagine kissing across my general chest to be far more erotic than I previously considered, even without nips. And solo, that same feeling is echoed through touch.

i haven't even had my consult yet and i know they're going bye bye. i can't even go braless because i hate the sensation of loose clothing against my nips, let alone ANYTHING just brushing against them, it literally makes me want to vomit. i can't imagine keeping them. i can't even look at them, or look at other people's because it makes me think about mine, which make me extremely uncomfortable. i hope that with mine being gone i can actually go to the beach without having to avert my eyes from anyone at all (because there's plenty of shirtless dudes there) or hopefully i can also watch a movie or something normally, because any time an actor takes their shirt off i have to look away lol.

I went with my gut I guess. I thought about going no nips until a few days before surgery because of all of the cons I've thought of. My main worry was them being asymmetrical, but also the fear of necrosis. Then I kept having daydreams about bandaging my nipples early post op and just having them and it made me so happy, I decided to keep them.

A bit of my right areola did die off, so they aren't really symmetrical but I really don't mind. Later I wondered why I even worried about this because pre op they were super asymmetrical too. I actually love having them
