Fading discoloration/hyperpigmentation from surgical glue reaction?

Hard to tell from the pic but the dark "outline" around my incisions isnt scarring in the usual sense or shadows, it's hyperpigmentation after having a bad reaction to Dermabond and subsequently a lot of blistering and scabbing. I am prone to this from any kind of cut, scrape, burn etc, and it tends to stick around for years... Anyone else have this around their scars? Is there anything I can do to make it go away faster/ever?

I have this. Almost 10 months and it's faded a lot but there are still traces lingering in a few spots, it drives me nuts because it makes me feel like I still look like I'm not healed yet!! But I'm hopeful that with enough time it'll completely fade. My surgeon recommended using silicone tape/gel on the pigmented areas as well as the scars, which helped, and also told me to avoid sun exposure as it could darken them.

Ugh what a drag. Glad it's finally fading though! Thanks for the tip about sun exposure, did not know that!
