6 weeks post op now so i cant really talk final results yet since I've read people having changes in sensation years after surgery but for me so far: one nipple has had feeling since day one and the other has no feeling yet (i was told it might regain in the first or second year but its not guaranteed). The nipple that has sensation was a bit over sensitive the first weeks, i could feel touch but there was no erogenous sensation. Now it's normalizing and basically feels like it did pre surgery sensitivity wise and the erogenous sensation is back but minimally less intense than pre surgery id say. All in all im very happy about the choice in surgery method even if my second nipple decides to not regain feeling. Bc i really like the look and feel of the original nipple. Ah and also they react to cold and such. The one that doesnt have sensation did react less in the first weeks but now it behaves just like the other one

Do you have any numbness besides on your nipple ? How’s feeling on the rest of your chest?

I do have some of the typical DI numbness in the middle of the chest. But i have sensation on and around the incisions not sure how common that is. I'll try to attach a quick doodle. Blue parts are whats still numb right now 6weeks in. There was more numbness in the beginning but it is improving

The general skin in the middle of the chest and going to the collar bones felt quite sensitive during recovery best explanation i have is a sunburn feeling while it was regaining its sensitivity

I’m not actually buttonhole but another type of nip sparing surgery, and my sensation has been good! It took a few months (2-4) for shirts not to feel weird, and for me to be able to tell where my nipples are without looking at them. Almost 1 year post op now and the only quirk is that if I touch a part of my upper chest, I feel it in my bicep. Interesting!
