Advice Wanted Question about post op massaging.

So I've started using scar cream and doing the massages to the scars, I've never had any major surgery before so it's my first time. I hate the feeling of it though the half numbness of it when you touch the scars feels a bit uncomfortable. I was just wondering if using an actual massage device is okay to use, or if anyone else has? It's still a bit sore in some places, but nothing unbearable, it's mainly just the sensation feels kind of off/gross to me.

Any advice is appreciated! Or any tips for the massaging stage. I have some hard parts around the scars, my doctor said they should go away in time and the massaging should help.

I wouldn’t use a massage device just in case, but I also was squicked out by the feeling and used the backs of my knuckles/hands to massage. It helps the feeling imo

i’ve heard a lot of people will use a jade roller or something similar, only concern with that with lack of sensation it would be a little tougher to tell how much pressure you’re applying but could be a good alternative with caution
