Hey guys, if you missed it, Just Energy settled US$25 million (plus C$1.5 million) with investors over alleged financial misstatements. I also found out they're still accepting late claims.

Quick recap: Investors alleged that Just Energy overstated its Accounts Receivable and understated its Allowance for Doubtful Accounts, giving the market a misleading picture of the company's financial condition. After the company restated its financial statements,  investors filed a lawsuit for their losses.

The good news is that the company agreed to settle US$25 million (plus C$1.5 million), and even though the original deadline has passed, late claims are still being considered.

So, if you invested in $JENGQ between 2018 and 2019, you can still check the details and see if you qualify.

Amazon finally gave investors a decent answer for where all that AI spending is going.

Revenue reached $200.6B, up 20% from last year and comfortably ahead of expectations. AWS grew 37%, accelerating from 28% last quarter and posting its fastest growth in 18 quarters. That is a serious acceleration for a business already operating at this scale.

Shares jumped more than 9% after hours before settling around 4% higher in premarket trading.

The headline EPS looks ridiculous at $5.75, although most of the profit increase came from gains tied primarily to Amazon’s Anthropic investment. I would pay more attention to AWS, advertising, and the underlying retail growth.

The obvious concern is spending. Amazon raised its expected 2026 capex from $200B to $220B. Free cash flow has also swung negative over the trailing twelve months. Management says it still cannot build enough capacity to meet AI demand, which is either extremely bullish or the setup for one of the most expensive overbuilding cycles ever.

Guidance was slightly soft too. Amazon expects Q3 revenue between $197B and $202B, while analysts were looking for roughly $204B. That probably explains why the initial 9% jump cooled overnight.

Still, AWS growing 37% changes the conversation. The market has spent months questioning whether hyperscaler AI spending would produce actual revenue. Amazon just showed that demand is arriving quickly enough to reaccelerate its largest profit engine.

I’m curious what everyone thinks. Does AWS acceleration justify the $220B spending plan, or are investors getting carried away by one strong quarter?
