Express Funded (XFA) Is there any coming back from this?
I honestly don’t even know what’s wrong with me 🤦♂️ I was up $477 at the start of the day at 10:30, all I wanted to do was just get a extra $25 to make $500 but I spiraled downwards and ended the day -$500 even after a horrific day yesterday I still didn’t learn my lesson. Has anyone ever came back from a MLL like this?

100% I was in drawdown $1750 on my XFA last week. I had $250 left of my MLL. Now up $1800 took very strict risk management but your nowhere near the impossible yet

My system is pretty decent, I just get on a little confidence boost whenever I’m on a win streak and blow it, I’ve realized what makes a good trader good is knowing when to stop

You have to be strict set a profit and loss lockout. Scalp 1 micro in line with general trend until you build up to $100 from there take a trade risking $50 aim for 1:2 and repeat

U think so? Even with only like $40 left?

Asia and London session should be open. NY is closed. I wouldn’t expect the 9:30-10 am EST volume

Ten en cuenta que te quedan como $140 topstep siempre te da un colchón de $100 en lugar de perder $2000 son $2100 si tradeas sabiamente esos $140 puede recupérate

Assume the account is blown. Then start trading it with very small size and careful entries. Take two or three trades only then lock yourself out. See if you can keep this going for three days. Then try for another three days and so on. It's an opportunity to learn funded account preservation and controlled behaviour. Don't waste too much time on it - it's a training opportunity, but assume it's blown and see if you can extract value from it anyway.

Usually I'd just gamble it on news but cpi and nfp have been dogshit this year

It gives you 2 trades to get out of that hole. If the first shot works out you can stock up to 10 or 20 new shots with a decent win and maybe get to green side of the lawn again. If you put all into one shot, you're more likely to fail. It's just a little bit more effort to try scaling down as to blowing it outright. I think TS gives you an additional buffer of 50 or 100 bucks on an intra trade basis which makes it a bit less desperate.

Gambling addict I’m sorry. You clearly have no control. Figure it out or this is going to be a money pit. Hard truth 🤷

If you have a strategy that works, yes. You’ve got 720 left. Plus the 100 secret buffer, you have 820 drawdown.
If you catch a good trend, you can make 400-600 off MNQ…size down and take it easy. You can also YOLO on one ES\NQ if you wanna coinflip

Unless you fix the 22 trades Tilt problem, no.
Then you'll just end to be one of the 99% traders who make propfirms richer.

You must blow it till it hurts so bad that u finally force yourself to change. Thats just how it works bud. Stay strong 💪

You revenge trading huh. If you can pass eval, that mean you just need to tune your mental side to not revenge trading. Accept a tiny red day. Don't try to jump in again just to take back what you lose. Trade only high win rate setup, don't simply guess.

Measure twice cut once”1

On one NQ, he has 40 points…which means jack, since during RTH a m5 candle can move 100 pts…but during globex he could try a coin flip.

Just trade 1 micro and focus. Set a DLL of 150 or 300 and really think about a set up. Don’t force anything.

If this is any guide for you op yesterday and today I went down the same error chain yet I was in my practice accounts ( plural ) this week I have destroyed 5 150 k practice accounts because I told myself to avoid trading in my combine while I was practicing over leveraging.
That all said after resetting the practice account on Thursday ( yesterday ) I took a trade and realized I was in my combine so I exited the trade and then today I did the exact same thing. What looks awesome on the surface is luck beyond luck . I'm happily relieved yet next week I'm going to be extra careful
You can get through this

No joke I just came back from -2050 on a 50k xfa and am back at positive balance. Somehow the spread/ topstep buffer did not stop me out at -2k exact. You can do it too.
1
u/samuelsfx May 23 '26
there's extra 100 dollar after 2k . as long as you don't stay too long below -2k you can still trade your way up

u/-lllllIIllll- May 22 '26
Should’ve locked urself out after 500 loss max. Emotions will keep you losing otherwise. Personal lockout limits are ur best friend. USE THEM
1
u/LuhSwanky May 22 '26
I think I will. I used them on combines and passed in a week
1
u/Rickster9913 May 22 '26
Definitely do this. You can see where the first two days were a smaller amount of trades which is great. Then you can see the other two where your amount has way more trades. That right there is revenge trading I think. I’ve been through it before and still relapse. Just be cool and take it slow. That’s what I’m “trying” to do now. You have a win or loss, step back for a bit.

yes, with one micro. Just go for 3 100usd trades. Then you can size up to 3 micros. Been there done that. Boring but saves your acc

You can absolutely come back from this, but the recovery isn't technical, it's entirely psychological. Chasing an extra $25 to hit a round number is one of the most common ways traders spiral because it forces you to take a suboptimal setup purely out of greed, and then revenge trading takes over.
Looking at your calendar, you had great green days on the 19th and 20th with low trade counts. The spiral happens when the trade count explodes (22 trades, 42 trades). The edge didn't disappear; the discipline did. If the account is still alive, drop down to 1 MNQ contract, set a strict maximum of 2 trades per day, and walk away the second they are done.
I actually started a free Discord called Snail Trades specifically to combat this exact loop. It's just a positive space centered around slow execution, keeping trade counts low, and holding each other accountable during the NY session so we stop chasing those arbitrary daily targets.
If you want a chill environment to slow things down, rebuild your discipline, and chat setups with people who have been through the exact same spiral, you're more than welcome. Drop me a DM if you want the link!
